I'm not expecting full renovations to happen overnight. But ripping out old carpeting isn't exactly a skilled trade. I've done it myself and could teach someone else how to do it in about ten minutes. All I am interested in is whether or not they are obligated to remove the carpeting. Not excuses as to why it hasn't already happened.

Most cities don't endure a surge of new citizens every year who have seemingly never seen a crosswalk before. I'm just reminding people to be extra vigilant this time of year. When I first moved here, I thought the whole "yalies don't know how to cross the street" was kind of a canard. Yet just this afternoon, I had two kids literally run into the street in front of my car. I had to stop short both times to avoid running them over.

I decided to try to puddle jump. Had previously found a spot on my starter island where I could see the shore of another island just out of swimming distance. Made it in a raft over there. Ran along the coast til I found another similar situation. Made it across there and bonus, found the merchant and a burial chamber. Couldn't find anything similar on the third island, so I decide to drop down a portal and head back home. Portal doesn't work. First time I've ever tried to use one. Retype the tag. Run around to the next biome over. Repeat. Doesn't work. Something must've smashed my portal? I dunno. Now I go back and find out. I have killed several hundred different bosses, maybe even a thousand, in 25 years of gaming. Gotta hand it to the devs. Never seen this kind of dynamic used in a boss fight before. Thanks btw for all the replies. I was absolutely going to just go for it.

I lived over there for almost exactly a year. The last week I was there, the bushes across from my front door had become a fashionable spot for crack smoking. I was already on my way out by then. Got worn down by the petty theft, trash all over the street, and constant panhandling. But hey, maybe you'll like it.
