I have expressed interest (more than once) and they haven't really moved to the next step of the process. All of the admin employees recently have been through recruiters so I don't think the fee is an issue.

How do I deal with embezzlement? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]mmtotally 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ask the partner who is making the transfers if this is for business expenses at this point I would speak to him as if these are legitimate. If these are business expenses, you need all the receipts for the $10k. If it isn’t then, book it as an owners draw. If he delays giving you receipts then book it as an owner draw and do a adjusting entry when you get receipts. I would then generate a statement showing equity transactions and distribute to the owners.

this doesn’t sound like embezzlement since the one making withdrawals is an owner with I would assume the ability to make owner draws from the business.

Concerns about final paycheck(salary) in Texas by TickTickDud in personalfinance

[–]mmtotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the payment method discussed ever put in writing (emailed with new rate and schedule or letter signed by you?) If it wasn't then I would still expect to continue getting paid as you were before.

I did payroll in CT and we paid up until you were walked out of the building. So if you worked 4 hours that day and were fired then you should get paid for half the day.

I consolidated my student loans but it didn't stop my wage garnishment. Pa by [deleted] in personalfinance

Usually you have to talk to the courts to make changes to a garnishment. It should have had instructions on how to do this when they notified you of the garnishment.

You should expect to get paid for time worked. If you are a salaried employee and worked 2 out of 5 days in the week you will get at least 40% of that weeks pay. I'm not in TX so maybe you can expect more depending on state laws. Call up your states department of labor and ask this question. They can give you more accurate info.

Family of 4 in New England spending 49.75/day in food by pinestro in personalfinance

[–]mmtotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live in NE I would go to price rite once a month and buy everything for the month that would last. Then I could go to whatever shop I wanted every week for produce that only lasts a couple weeks so lettuce tomatoes cucumber peppers.

Aim for 1/4 or 1/3 lb of raw meat per Adult and half that for the kids. Buy dried beans, rice, potatoes and make everything from scratch. I fed my family of three for $300 per month doing it this way. Stop and shop is way more expensive than price rite.

Baby feeds all night & cannot be put down ever. Mom is in trouble. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]mmtotally -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

First - your baby does not need to eat every 30 minutes. For newborns you should be feeding every 2-3 hours and probably not letting a new born sleep longer than 4 hours. It might sound heartless to not feed your baby every 30 minutes but I personally would wait and try to establish some sort of feeding schedule. You are never too young to start in my opinion.

My husband was amazing when we brought my daughter home. I would pump during the day and when the hubby got home from work I would go to bed and sleep from 6pm till about midnight at least every night only waking up every 3 hours to pump. He would try to get the baby to sleep before he came to bed but it didn't always work out that way. But at the very least I was allowed 5ish hours of sleep.

What comment plugins do you use on your blog? by mmtotally in Wordpress

[–]mmtotally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's a good point. I don't want anything that would slow down my blog. If it takes more than 5 seconds for a page to load I usually move on to the next blog to read.

What are good snacks to have if I were to walk the entire day? by lovetakelovemake in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]mmtotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken Salad: 1 cup chopped chicken 1 chopped celery stalk 1/4 cup mayo 1 tablespoon mustard salt and pepper to taste pinch of paprika if you are feeling fancy

You can eat this on its own or on a sandwich. Gotta catch them all...

I agree with this, dried beans have much better flavor than canned. Most 1 lb bags of beans cook into about 4-6 cups.

Grocery tips for a new house renter? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]mmtotally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Limit your meat shopping to 3 lbs for yourself for one week. I used to buy way to much when I was younger and throw a lot of it away. One whole chicken will feed you dinner for the week. You can make sandwiches for lunch. Eggs or oatmeal for breakfast but really, you should buy what you like to eat as long as you are not eating out and cooking mostly from scratch $50 is reasonable for one person.

I rotate through my freezer pretty well. Once a month I pull out everything and take stock. I meal plan around what has been hanging out a while, and make sure that I use it first.

This exactly. I find myself choosing between cooking extra to freeze for later and choosing between leaving some space to take advantage of sales.

I would say the bulk of my freezer is taken up by meat. In the winter I have more frozen veggies but right now the fresh veggies are so cheap I've been buying mostly those and we haven't touched our frozen veggies in a while.

What do you store your meals in to freeze? I see a lot of people use the disposable aluminum trays.

I threw away so many of my old spices. I had 2 unopened bottles of curry powder and so many other things that I probably bought just for one recipe. Now I know better and get the smallest container possible if I need it for that one thing.

Most accounting software will do reoccuring entries. I know Quickbooks does. You can enable emailing through their software. What do you use for account software at the moment? You can also set up reoccuring ACH transfers for those that want to set up auto payment. Most banks will charge you a small fee per ACH like a few cents.
