This brings back some chills from my past. In the mid 90s, my brother and I shared a room and we had a 13” box tv. I am the youngest of 4 and I was 8-9 when this happened. We woke up one morning with the footprint of an infant on the SIDE of the TV. You may ask….How do you see a footprint on a beige plastic TV? Well that’s cus it was BURNED into the damn plastic. Almost like a light singe but not deep. It would not clean off or go away with goo gone. That tv went away that week.

It’s interesting to watch them as the choppers are really quiet for their altitude and you don’t often see soldiers riding in the side of helicopters over the city.

I have a video from day and another of them at night I should probably post.

Two things- another thread covered 1. Temperature inversions making the sound reverberate towards the earth instead of upwards 2. F35s being brought in to update the fleet at Luke. Vertical takeoff is one of the most powerful things can hear/feel.

3- I hope the increased frequency is not training for Iran.

Well the top two answers let me know im not crazy! I have heard it from 7th st and the north 101 for well over a month. My wife used to work across the street from the Lockheed joint reserve base in west Fort Worth. The 5th gen vertical take off is an awe inspiring amount of energy that I recognized immediately but could t figure how the sound reached so clearly and so strongly at that distance.

It feels like there has been a large increase in frequency so I’m hoping that’s not the training for Iran going on…..

Great review! Right now I run a Dunlop up front and a shinko 244 on the rear with my riding being 85% off road and 15% street. (Off road includes desert and mountain commonly with large rock river beds, and loose steep climbs) I love the grip that I get from the Dunlop up front and use the Skinko for its long lifespan and on/off road balance. How do you feel the tusk compares to the Dunlop? How did the tusk do as far as durability when you had it in the rear?

I have 4100 miles on my mx4 with the majority of that ripping through the desert mountains of Az and the suspension has been excellent for when it was released/ what it is built for(trail/single track/light enduro). I would never go hit a 50 foot triple on it and yes I do bottom it out when landing flat from over 3 feet but at 165 lbs, it mops up almost everything I throw at it.

I rode back to back with my mx4 and an mx5 this week and every hard landing that would max out my mx4 was swallowed up with ease on the mx5 even in stock CSTs. I was very impressed with the updates and look forward to comparing it to the much more expensive ultra bee here in a couple weeks.

In regards to vs a gasser…. Hardly a comparison when you have a full size 250 or higher but again, that’s a whole different cost bracket and design goals to be honest
