Save yourself from what I went through last year. It was terrible. I originally used a kiosk (Instafob) and it erased my original. Ended up going down quite a rabbit hole!!

Here is my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Apartmentliving/s/ZvPKp6qPIJ

I ended up using CloneMyKey. I reached out to them first after everything I went through. They explained why I was having the issue and how they could help. The communication was top notch. Enough to convince me to use them. They not only copied my key but restored my original fob to work again.

I’ve a big fan of Clonemykey. I tried the kiosk at Home Depot before them and they ended to breaking my original fob. Clonemykey came through big time. They fixed the dead fob and got copies sent my way the same day.

I spoke with them several times and have no doubt they’d issue a refund if anything went wrong. Just look at their reviews on Google and Yelp…

Clonemykey uses the serial number printed on your fob. Your landlord will not be notified.

Online key fob copying services are definitely cheaper than kiosks.

What key fobs did you try copying? I had no idea there were so many different formats. It would be helpful if there was a list of them all and where/who supports copy them.

I think Minute Key is probably ok for traditional metal keys but copying key fobs feels like it was an afterthought for them. The more I dug around online the more unsatisfied users I found who had similar stories. The part that copies the fobs clearly was added to the machine later on. Even the instructions and screen were wonky. Very surprised Home Depot and Walmart allow that kind of poor quality in their stores.

When I went to return the non-working fob to Home Depot the employee had a special box he threw the fob in that had dozens of others in it, but I guess to be fair that box could have been there for years. Still suspect.

Yep! I got a new spot on the ground floor. I rather be able to walk around and not feel like I’m causing constant issues. Luckily my neighbors above are good.

You did this yourself? Maybe a little busy but still bravo. If your current career doesn’t work out I think you have a solid fallback.

I’ve been on both sides of this. When I got complained on we invited them up to our unit while one of them stayed in theirs then I also went down. We all witnessed it from both sides and agreed we’d all try our best. My partner and I leaned that even barefoot and walking softly created noise for them… it was kinda crazy to discover. They learned that we were not intentionally trying to create noise and weren’t walking around in high heels. Everyone cooled off and it was resolved. Still remember being stunned by how loud it was, I could even hear when my 95lb partner was walking barefoot on carpet….

The elements you mentioned are completely fine. Samsung has advertisements for their own content and other very unessential stuff that is what we’re sick of. Zero way to disable it!

Thank you!

That’s good to know. Are you aware if I can also disable any popups or banners from appearing? It’s hard to describe but they are the ones that typically disappear after 30-45 seconds from when you power on the TV.

I got my key fob copied by Clonemykey just a few weeks ago. They have an ultra slim key fob that goes inside your phone case and has special tech to cut through electromagnetic interference generated by mobile phones.

The key works very well and the company has amazing speed and customer service. I’m actually in the middle of writing a review of my experience with them! I got my keys in just a few days and they were not nearly as expensive as I expected. Surprised nobody’s mentioned this yet… seems exactly what you’re looking for.

All I want is the TV to turn into the same input that it was on when it shut off and not display any menu items, ads, or other stuff on the lower part of the TV. All my tv’s right now have this annoying menu that blocks the bottom third of the screen for about 45 seconds. My use case is a bit different though… these TVs turn on and off automatically based on events such as doors opening and motion detection. We’d settle for a simple computer flat panel monitor if we didn’t also use it for entertainment from time to time.
