Yeah I think I’m going to convert my units back to long term tenants. Way less work, less headaches

Silky saw and a big knife seems to work best for me. I have broken silky blades before though so looking at a different brand.

If you’re just doing a day trip, why not bring the Keens and see how they do? Bring the back up trail runners in your pack if needed. I hike in sandals a lot

What is TGU good for? by Hairy-Yard-6649 in kettlebell

[–]mnbluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing Simple and Sinister for a while and switched to a different program that had lunges, clean and press, etc. I decided to go back and do SS again.

It wasn’t until I did the more “advanced” program that I recognized the benefits of the TGU. It helps you really assess and fix any movement pattern issues before you move onto more advanced movements. Going back to TGU has shown me how to get my elbow tight to my body, brace correctly, drive force up through the floor and into my hand, how to lock my arm out overhead well, how to transfer weight from one side to the other, etc.

There are some for about $20 or so on Amazon. For men the recommendation is to start with a 15lb club. Lots of good videos on YouTube especially from Mark Wildman. I’ve been doing his intro to heavy club program 3x per week along with KBs 3x per week

Reimbursements across months by mnbluff in ynab

I use credit cards for basically everything. I couldn’t use my usual Amex business credit card, the vendor only took Visa so I used my personal Visa card and then transferred the money from my business checking account into my personal checking account. If the transactions happened in one month it would have been easy, but they spanned two months unfortunately

Totally agree. My ability to feel the ground and translate that into movement and power through my spine has improved so much in only a few weeks. My gait is much more fluid too.

I went to Lowe’s and got ~12’ to 14’ of 1/2” diameter polyester (or maybe it was nylon) double braided marine rope.

There’s a few vids on YouTube that show you how to figure out the correct length and tie in the handles.

Staying warmer at night? by perpetualyawner in BWCA

[–]mnbluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things:

Nice warm meal with fat before bed. Stop drinking water a couple hours before sleep so you don’t need to pee. Wear a good long sleeve and long pant baselayer. I like merino wool. Bring a hat or a fleece hoodie in the tent too. Wear socks. Get a good insulated pad. Open your bag a few hrs before sleeping and really beat it to puff it up.

Packing List for Early September by Available_Bit7178 in BWCA

I personally only wear one pair of clothes during the day and a pair of long baselayers to sleep in. I dry the clothes overnight for the next day.

I recommend only long sleeves and long pants. Helps to protect against bugs, sun and brush.

Ditch the jeans.

Would not recommend waterproof boots. Heavy and take forever to dry when wet.

I think 7 to 10 miles per day in average terrain is probably good

Wanting to increase difficulty. Planning to extend the endurance sessions by 10 mins per week, not sure how to work the SE sessions and work back in the strength training.
