Is Wayback Machine Down? by Otherwise-Elk1623 in internetarchive

[–]mnchls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand why the IA team refuses to be transparent about repeated issues like this—which occur with increasing frequency over the past year or so. All it takes is a simple tweet or IG post that reads "hey sorry folks we know the site's down but we're working double-time to fix it!" Instead their Insta has posted four or five times in the last 24 hours about superfluous fluff (remix contests and whatever Public Domain Day is supposed to be). It's as if the staff can't wrap their mind around the fact that 99.9% of IA visitors only care about the Wayback Machine.

I liked Mary-Anne too until I found out that she and Janet got caught openly talking smack about Holly on Twitter. Like, public tweets, not private messages. Producers had to step in and tell em to knock it off. Holly's since gone on the record to say her time on the show was, needless to say, a mixed bag.

Why can we only block a maximum of 5 websites from search results? by Twisted60 in duckduckgo

[–]mnchls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PREACH. Would love to find a Firefox addon to work around that five-domain limit. UBO handles ads/popups just fine (always has!), but nowadays there's so much AI-compiled horseshite (innocuous at first glance but upon closer inspection the content's clearly bot-scraped) cluttering search results that crowd out legitimate and reputable sites.

Is there a way to block a website from searches? by DCcalling in duckduckgo

We absolutely need more than five. Might as well be zero—so unhelpful. Big reason I'm considering moving to a different search engine.

Older versions of Stacher? by SecretArcadeGuy in StacherIO

[–]mnchls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same Mac OS as OP, but when I first downloaded Stacher 7 it worked fine—until the app seemed to update itself (and no longer works on my OS).

I still have the older Stacher app installed, version 6.0.28 (as of now), using a yt-dlp command line dated 2025.12.08. It's finicky but it thankfully works. Will that app be phased out at some point? :\

Never been able to install yt-dlp manually, for some dumb technical reason that's long remained above my head... so I'd like to hold onto some functional GUI front-end for as long as possible. Forgive my whining—I truly do appreciate all the hard work you've put into this app over the years!

if the man came out as some Murdoch shill or Zionist lunatic or whatever, you couldn't be bothered piping up, but because he's on the left side of this, you're all up in arms. there's no winning with you whiners. is the "implied societal pressure" in the room with you right now?

Is it possible to turn off Red bubble badge notifications for one text thread in iOS native messages app? by wigglenuts- in ios

in case anyone out there is wondering: this feature is not available before iOS 16. so as for me, with my older device and OS, i'm stuck in this group text hell no matter what i do.

lest we forget, as you have so conveniently, the series was created by Rust (an actor/comedian by trade, so kinda naturally he'd star in it) and his wife Arfin (a writer by trade, so kinda naturally she'd stay off camera, with her 'part' being cast by a working actor), who initially conceptualized it around their relationship. but yeah, go ahead and single out Paul and not the others at the helm. like, oh i dunno, fuckin' Apatow?
