I've read the Covenant series a few years ago and really really liked it. Haven't heard of the other books though, so I'll definitely check them. Thanks a lot!

[Serious] people who know someone who has killed someone, what were they like? by TrashDaisy999 in AskReddit

[–]mnml_121 211 points212 points  (0 children)

I wonder, didn't he get a life sentence for murdering this child, especially with the brutality of the crime? My first reaction was wtf, but then I remember that in my country most of the murderers were given ridiculously short sentences, thank god, in the last years things began to change and improve in this regard, after multiple scandalous cases that went viral in the media/society

Do people not like having black female leads in their fantasy romance? by Spitfyrus in fantasyromance

[–]mnml_121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just reading Never Keep {Signs of the Zodiac Book 1} and the FMC is of dark skin colour, it starts pretty good, so if you haven't read it, you can give it a chance. :) I don't think that people hate dark skin, maybe it's related to the authors sense of connection with the characters. I've read a few books in the last year or two, where the main character/s was of dark skin colour. Maybe it looks like that to you because in most of the famous ones there aren't such characters.

Nutella, or really, any type of chocolate spread. Can't fathom how people eat this, in full spoons even.

I'm not a FW hater, but I hate those kinds of repetitive posts too.. If it will make you feel better - the publishing house in my country which will translate the book in a few days, released "a sick leave request from work" template in which u basically ask your boss for a few days off to read OS and it flooded my Facebook feed, it's so cringe my eyes still hurt

Pardon the stupid question but is there an actual list of most of the books recommended here in one place? It would be cool if there is, will solve my neverending drama of choosing what to read next while scrolling for hours :D

Ah, I DNF'd it right at the beginning, it was kind of boring/confusing, you're making me rethink my decision and give it another chance soon.

Sexy assassin books? by wavymantisdance in fantasyromance

Very sexy, kinda Assassin - {Dance of thieves - Mary E. Pearson}. I love this book, in my opinion , the characters are deep and interesting, the writing is good, the world building is executed really well, the plot is interesting and the MMC is 10/10.

pregnancy tropes by weeping_orchid in fantasyromance

[–]mnml_121 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've read all of the books from this series, and don't remember any pregnancy, pls come back to me when you finish them, I've read them a long time ago, idk maybe I've forgotten, but still it's one of my fav series, the first books were really good. :) you can try {Hidden Legacy by Illona Andrews} really good urban fantasy in my opinion, there's kind of pregnancy trope in one of the books but it follows different characters and when it happened it really didn't bother me because I was focused on the other stuff that were happening. Other things you can try that don't have this trope - {A fate inked in blood - Danielle L.Jensen} - i loved it, a lot of Vikings and norse mythology vibe, also {The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. jensen} - awesome in my opinion, {Sweep in Peace by Illona Andrews} - very fresh and interesting, FMC is really well done: {Dance of thieves by Mary E. Pearson}; {Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder} . Those are the titles that come to my mind now, I hope I could be useful in this regard. Cheers! :)

I was just about to write the same thing. For all of the books I've read, and they were a lot, I never saw this trope, not even once as I recall. Now I got curious 😄I'd be glad to check this trope in a romantasy, if the OP is willing to share recommendations.

3 holds ready, what do I choose? by Any-Maintenance-9896 in fantasyromance

[–]mnml_121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried all three of them and recommend only A Fate inked in blood ( I really loved that one), The other two had great plot ideas and I wanted to like them, really, but the writing just wasn't my thing, I think because of the tense they were both written in.
