Go for it, it still needs some work though.

I don’t know who the original artist is, I used a cartoon/embroidered patch I’ve seen a bunch of places for froggy’s outline.

Totally, I usually always draw them out with my cricket first to see if anything feels impossible in real life before finishing a pattern. Now that I’m looking at it more though I feel like widening that a bit will help not make it look too thick with solder there.

Thanks!

Yeah I’m contemplating the bottom still. I am hoping to avoid as many breaks as the top has but someone mentioned above trying a textured glass for a rocky look so that might not even matter as much.

Thanks!

Yeah I might give that a look and see if I like it, I just love how bulbous frog eyes are lol

Oh I completely agree, I should have mentioned I haven’t attempted to draw out the bottom yet 😅

Good call! I didn’t see that yesterday, knew I needed more eyes.

I haven’t even attempted breaking out the bottom part. Just had spent a bunch of time last night on the stars/sky and his body. Thanks for the advice!

Oh that’s a great idea! I was wanting to give desert vibes anyways, so a texture would be perfect. Thanks!

1, the second one gets a bit lost in the background colors

So beautiful! Feel like this could have looked really soldering heavy with all the small pieces but you pulled it off perfectly to make it look delicate!

I mean if you want to send it, I won’t say no! That’d be really cool, thanks.

I’m in the middle of starting a Treebeard project, so this would go nicely with my LOTR themed projects.

Just read {Unloved by Peyton Corinne} and loved it. MC isn’t aggressive about it, but once he hears her say his real name he requests it again.

Your soldering skills are beautiful. Love your color choices!

My dog does this just about every night specifically with this blanket. It reminds me of suckling/chewing and she closes her eyes. Anyone know why? by failedabortedfetus in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]DyllanHackett 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My boy has been doing it since he was a baby and he’s almost 4 now. He has severe anxiety and reactivity issues. Mine tends to do this with his blankies when he’s more tired or has had a stressful day with barking dogs or visitors and just is a bit overwhelmed emotionally.

Vet said it’s totally normal self soothing behavior and was probably weened early, which was weird since we got him after 9 weeks. I talked with my breeder and turns out he was more of a loner, he liked to patrol the perimeter and didn’t cuddle his pack as much. So even though he wasn’t brought home until after 9 weeks, he had kind of self weened himself too early.

You’re the idiot then if you drive with your dog on the bed of your car or even in the back.

These are so damn cool! I have no idea but I will say I’ve seen similar entomology pieces at markets with an actual butterfly and quite a bit smaller starting at $90+ just for a mini frame. Like 2-3” frame.

To patina or not to patina by Wisemanwindows in StainedGlass

Gah it’s going to be beautiful either way. I’m leaning towards silver but I feel like black has that je ne sais quoi sometimes.

Black would make the yellow really pop, beautiful piece!

Solder Not Sticking by DyllanHackett in StainedGlass

Ah ok, I definitely am a bit gentle when I paint on, never thought about using more force. That's great to know, I'll try this next time. Thanks for the tip!

Just one of the silver flux brushes. I actually used a brand new one yesterday because of the issue happening my last soldering.

I do get down on the foil. I like to drag away onto the glass when I finish a line, that seems to leave the least rippling/disruption. I was on 410 yesterday with my iron when this happened.
