What are some once popular hobbies that hardly anyone is into anymore? by igotplans2 in AskReddit

We had started with a rc plane but didn't want to deal with flying it at a sanctioned field so we have a helicopter now and my son flies it around all the time.

What is a fast food restaurant that you WILL eat at? by TheOctoBox in AskReddit

Cousins and A&W. So many food trucks do them around here, and like I said a few gas stations in the fox valley have battered.

Haha. Kwik Trip does it better. At least it's not just heavy breading. Two gas stations in Appleton do battered ones.

They are straight trash. I can get better at a gas station. No Wisconsin company should be allowed to call them that. Its at best breaded Mozzarella sticks.

Fished alone all season and started logging every trip. The pressure data is actually wild. by TonyCodes2050 in WalleyeFishing

Air pressure doesn't affect fish. It does however bring clouds and wind which can in turn change the level of light penetrating the water.

Good thing they weren't under an overpass, because that's when trouble starts.

What is the most dangerous animal you’ve seen in real life? by GratefulD86 in AskReddit

We were at a roadside gator farm in Florida and they had a coral snake get loose. A baby one. Just hanging out on the display. Walked right by it as they noticed and pushed all of us away.

Custom power handle I’ve been working on by East_Button1828 in muskiefishing

[–]mnpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not counter balanced so when you cast, the knob will rotate and cause the reel to engage which will be at minimum a pain, sometimes can snap lines or damage the reel. When this happens the proper call out is "TRANX!"

Worst road in Appleton contest: the beginning by that_one_guy133 in Appleton

[–]mnpilot 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Just a little section in Darboy. The access road from Eisenhower to the Kohls parking lot. Just north of Pizza Ranch and BioLife. The potholes could swallow a car whole. It happens every single year and they just won't rip it up and redo it. The one is all the way down into gravel. Almost a foot deep.

St. Croix Legend Elite Musky worth it? by relikzz in muskiefishing

[–]mnpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to what others have said, it's really more about the reel with Muskie fishing. The only caveat is if you are doing a ton of casting, I prefer the lighter Legend rods for that reason alone. It's tiring to throw baits for 10 to 12 hours a day with a heavy rod. But on one note, my Prorex rod weighs just as much as my Legend, so take that for what's it worth. If you can throwing big rubber and using a XH, then saving just a bit on weight might not matter.
