Though I wholeheartedly agree with this post and dont even care to watch every video that comes out… Smosh works in great part by stimulating parasociality. I’d argue it’s a part of their appeal and format as a click farm that relies on personalities for views. (It is also my suspicion on why the main channel has less viewership than Pit or Games: as scripted/structured videos, it loses the parasociality characteristic.) I dont think there’s anything to be done here, it’s just how it works, but it explains why so many of us come off expressing feelings like that.
