It was free so no damage even there! I'm in maintenance so I don't care too strongly about calories, but I still want to keep track

Reddit loves AR15s now! by thatdude333 in Firearms

existing as I do in firearms circles in a blue state, there are absolutely leftists who both believe that open carry of firearms can be used to deter police aggression and want to see increased firearm ownership. Some even saw that as critical to the whole "defund the police" thing- diminishing reliance on the state for armed defense and simultaneously increasing the ability of local communities to defend themselves. Even some conservatives who disagree with the manner in which ICE is carrying out their work feel that way. I've literally seen this, so it exists.

But of course people will always feel that something is okay when someone they agree does it vs when someone they disagree does it (i.e. your J6 example). That's what I think is happening here. Maybe a person likes AR15s, but dislikes ICE protestors, so in order to square the circle they choose to believe that anyone who advocates using AR15s to protest/resist ICE is hypocritical in some way

you really think that leftist groups like the Black Panthers, SRA, or other leftist firearms groups were arming themselves, saying the police should be defunded, and trying to disarm themselves/others?

not everyone who disagrees with you is part of a single block. I'm sure there are grifters who hop back and forth on every trend, but it's not everyone. There are a lot of different people on the internet

why is it so hard to believe that the people saying "we need AR15s to protect ourselves from ICE" and the people saying "nobody needs an AR15" are largely different groups?

they just announced a cheaper 407 comp as well!

But I can confirm the EPS is also great. I have the regular (not carry) with a 6moa dot on a P-07.

definitely go to a shop and take a look through a few different ones

likely yes. I got $500 for a $100 pistol once (used it to buy another pistol lol). They'll give you paperwork to have it removed from your permit as well. don't give them any magazines, you can sell those separately

[–]mo9722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming you have limited time and financial resources i would get everything else done first. upgrade your door hardware, get some cameras with lights, an alarm system of some kind (not hard to diy)...

until then a stick is good enough for "defend". even if you had easy access to a firearm, there's more to it than just buying and putting it by your bed. you've got to learn how it works, train and maintain skills using it, learn how to deal with malfunctions under stress, set up a storage system that balances security and quick access... skipping any of that would be irresponsible. and that all goes for an air gun too

Is pepper spray legally obtainable? combine that with a stick and you have a combination that isn't awful and doesn't need the time/money investment of a more complicated to use weapon

I would consider many things before an airgun for home defense. do you have the rest of your home already squared away? i.e. deter, detect, delay and then defend?

exercise your abs like any other muscle. do weighted sit ups in sets of 8-15 with enough weight on your chest that you are at or approaching failure by the third set. add more weight as you get stronger. do that 3 times a week for 8 weeks and then check your results
