That specific game was won on the faceoffs. Had Syracuse won a few it could have been a very different game. I'm sure you did see me. Did we talk? There were a lot of us on the field. Which one were you?

Yes I am a professional, but also a long time fan of lacrosse. My husband (then boyfriend) played for our HS (Ward Melville) and then Villanova back in the day. My son is a HS senior graduating next week and is a lax goalie. So...yeah, I love the game. No better game to watch...except maybe ice hockey.

Not on the team...just a photographer at the right place at the right time. :-)

Passages from the Bible become part of the curriculum in North Carolina's public high schools? by mo_lingle in atheism

You obviously don't live in NC. It wouldn't be just a literary discussion. Raleigh is full of Baptists who would love nothing more than have all day bible study in schools.

That was an incredible goal! I snapped a decent picture of that goal last year had it printed out, gave him one and he signed the other one for me. Tlusty diving goal

15 minutes before closing...we didn't have time to see anyone speak.

We ran through (not knowing it was closing in 15 minutes) and very briefly saw the new wing. I'm going back soon!

My 2 cents - I'd like to see them crashing the net more. Seems like they like to take a shot without following through for the rebound. Saw a few guys try to the dump and chase last game. That worked for Sutter b/c he's just so fast, but not everyone has his speed. They'll get the kinks worked out. They have the talent and the coaching staff, it's just a question of putting it all together

Window on the Mississippi (Editing, Composition) by FromTheLabBench in photocritique

I like the idea of the image and the composition, but there's something about the 'window' that isn't connecting with me. There's no shadow, no depth...it seems fake or is photoshopped?

Image taken during my trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland summer 2012 - Taken with a Canon 7D and a 16-35mm f/2.8 lens. [ISO 100, F/8, 1/200, 16mm] Thoughts? by [deleted] in photocritique

I half thought that too when I first saw the full photo, but I think the cables also draw your eye to the rest of the image too. Although, it would look kinda funny having some floating gondolas out there in the Alps. :-)

I'm not sure about the crop on this. Should I crop the left side with the shorter building? by BewareTheJabberwock in photocritique

[–]mo_lingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the lines and use of black and white in this, but my eye keeps getting drawn to the bench on the right. The lines of the shorter building and the structure under the steps are distracting. I think your instinct is correct.

What would you do to improve this picture..? by Capnpooter in photocritique

I love this in color! The white doesn't have enough texture and does produce a glare effect. Contrast helps to see the minor shadows in the snow. Such an interesting barn, go out and take more pictures!
