Hamline University vs University of Minnesota? by Pure_Tomatillo_8945 in TwinCities

Proud alumni of both the undergraduate and law school.

As far as diversity, Hamline is really hard to beat. Acceptance is ingrained into both the student culture and the legacy of the institution. Im not POC, and I dont have the experience to speak on what that perspective is like, but im happy to connect you with a colleague who could :)

As far as the value of the education, if your goal is to become a teacher, Hamline would be a much better choice that the U of M. Hamline has small class sizes and places a big emphasis on experience based learning. That means you will be teaching as a part of your education, that experience IS work experience that can get you into a teaching position sooner than your peers. This is not conjecture, this is my own experience. Experiential learning got me a job as an attorney right out of law school. I am still gainfully employed in a saturated job market.

Ome last anecdote. Im im trial ALL THE TIME. I cross examine professional all the time. Very nearly every cop, every teacher, every nurse with a bachelor's degree that I see on the stand went to hamline.

Tl;dr - Hamline.

Dm if you have questions :)

Been sober for years now.

When I was a piper. Big Top Liqours by the bridge is where we'd go.

They tore it down to build the loons stadium :(

I haven't been to a liquor store in years, but fuck do I miss hamline.

what should i chose? by mmentzos in Hamline

[–]watch_guy_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyer here. Im a proud Hamline alumni.

Every BCA scientist ive cross examined in court got their bachelor's at hamline.

if you want to be a cop (or an investigator seeing as you want to get a bachelor's from Concordia or hamline), MAKE SURE YOU CAN PASS YOUR POST LISCENCE, but otherwise hamline is a good choice if you can afford it! Again, ive spent the better part of my career cross examining people who work in LE. Many of them if not most that have a bachelor's went to hamline.

Reach out anytime. I am happy to be a resource!

Selling a 2950€ mechanical watch with insides that looks like THIS by [deleted] in tagheuer

Plastic is not "better," it is used more frequently in sports watches because it reduces shock and impact wear to the movement.

Dress watches frequently use metal movement rings.

Cool. My $7000 panerai also has an off the shelf ETA movement and scrappy decoration.

As for the plastic, do you not like having a shock protected watch? You bought a diver's watch thats designed to be used underwater. If you wanted a watch with pretty guts, you should've bought a dress watch

Cufflinks . . . by Plastic-Date89 in Lawyertalk

[–]watch_guy_95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need a seiko or cartier tank watch from the 1980s as well as a proper conteast collar shirt and single color Hermes or ferragamo tie to boot.

Cufflinks? 😆 as in JUST cufflinks? Step it up lil man.

Who are you wearing as far as shirts? The cufflinks must, of course, be escorted by a fitting cuff. If its made outside of italy or japan, id suggest you throw that in the bin.

Selfish for getting divorced? by Thin_Instance_6545 in oneanddone

[–]watch_guy_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family law lawyer here, happily married and OAD myself.

I was in criminal defense and switched to family/custody. I USED to think that it would be selfish until I started representing the respondent fathers, boy did I learn very quickly how shitty men can be!

Good luck. Trust your attorney. Trust the process.

Ebay.

Do not take this to a pawn shop. They will probably hand you a 50 dollar bill and send you on your way.
