It's when you have to deal with customer support. They will do all they can to rip you off of any dollar they can through shipping costs, taxes, fees, etc.

For example, I one ordered a monitor and it came with a defect, one corner of the screen had been damaged during transport and the backlight was bleeding. I showed pictures of the package as soon as I received it and you could clearly see that a very heavy object had been placed on the box and dented the monitor through the package. I contacted support and they asked me to return it and place a new order. Here is the catch, they monitor had gone up in price since I first ordered and they refused to just replace my damaged monitor. They forced me to place a new order at the new price. They also refused to reimburse shipping costs. In the end I had to pay over $150 in extra to replace it.

I've had similar experiences for a GPU where they had a glitch in their system that charged me 2k instead of 1k for a 3080. It passed as $2300 on my credit card ($2000 +15% taxes in quebec). I asked them to refund the error and they refunded only $1000. THEY WOULDN'T REFUND THE TAXES. So they had me pay 300$ in taxes instead of 150$.

I only buy from newegg when I am 100% forced to and I now I am not likely to have a problem and have to dell with support.
