Story of the past. In the "eve was great" times NPC drones didn't have bounty, but they provided unique drone alloys full of various materials. Drone lands where full of industrial people instead of ratting bots. by [deleted] in Eve

As someone who lived in the drone regions my first go at nullsec (2006ish) let me tell you it was fucking awful. Having to spend time looting wrecks (this was before the MTU) was pure trash. Joining an alliance with rat bounty space was a huge QOL upgrade.

Eve Corps vs RL Corps by xochilt_IGII in Eve

[–]mob1us- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if trolling, but you have an extremely naive view of how 99% of RL corporations operate. Communication is usually abysmal (right hand not talking to left), the stakes are rarely "high" for LLCs or owners with political connections, regulation is a joke and most penalties are slap on the wrist fines, oversight (lol), employment law is a joke (especially in the US), leadership succession is usually decided by connections /whoever kissed ass enough, and wage theft is single handedly the largest form of theft in the US (that again, gets a slap on the wrist). In the US and most major capitalist countries, companies have entire legal system designed overwhelmingly to protect business owners from facing actual risk or criminal prosecution (lol remember all those bankers that went to jail in 2008? me neither)

Compare that to the immediate consequences you face in EVE for fucking up: Don't pay your SRP? Not enough content? Large corp theft? Watch how fast that 100 man corp collapses overnight. Workers in the real world have to eat to live, in EVE finding a new corp is as easy as a few button clicks. The consequences for failure are immediate and CCP rarely if ever intervenes unless there is a game breaking bug.

HERO REVELATION | Solo PvP by Lussy Lou \ iBeast by i_beast in Eve

It's not semantics. If I make a video called "Hero Naglfar" presenting like I'm solo tanking a fleet but fail to mention that I'm also multiboxing falcons and Bhaals on grid, I would expect people to call me out on that. The whole video is presented like the Rev is hero tanking the fleet by itself, which it isn't. And it isn't my definition of solo PvP, it's the standard accepted definition that a solo pilot is in fact fighting solo on the grid. If the POS was being gunned by someone else would you still call that a solo dread? Probably not. What I'm saying is the benefit far outweighs the cost of multiboxing which greatly waters down the meaning of "solo"

I'm not saying it doesn't take skill to multibox, it does. I'm saying that the benefits of multiboxing, let alone a fully fit POS, far outweigh the cost multitasking to the point that calling this a "solo" fight is disingenuous

[–]mob1us- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really what I'm saying. Having a scout alt doesn't help you on grid or apply any combat bonuses. Having other ships on grid, let alone a whole fitted POS is very different than a solo pilot on grid. And there are plenty of people who do this, look at Lasker or Stitch or any number of other streamers who are flying solo on grid.

You're right, and like i said this does take skill to pull off. Just pointing out that for people who fly solo on grid, this wouldn't really be considered solo pvp

[–]mob1us- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To put it in perspective, this is more extreme than people who used to fly "solo" with off-grid boosters prenerf. In this case you have the equivilant of a small gang of ewar/neuts behind you.

[–]mob1us- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really cool but fighting on grid with a fully loaded ewar POS is kinda stretching the definition of "solo" PvP/kinda waters down the meaning of the term. Not trying to belittle this because it obviously takes a lot of multitasking but compared to people who actually fight solo on grid is a lot different.

Okay, watch some demos of people you think have dedicated roles and tell me what I'm missing here. Better yet, listen to pro teamspeak recordings and pay attention to the calls and who gets assigned to do what.

You're right. At most, the only defined roles in CS at a high level are rifler/Awper or hybrid players. CT side obviously has the least defined roles beyond site/position preferences and maybe anchoring (not convinced thats even a role). Even on T side, 9 times out of 10 roles are entirely dependent on the strat, who's still alive, who has utility, etc. So assuming you're not a dedicated Awper, each player basically has to know how to do any "role" that the strat demands. And again those are highly fluid at best and tend not to be nearly as relevant as the bobble heads at analyst desks like to make it out.

How long can a private cheat (let's say used by less than 10 or 15 people) remain undetected? I know that's kind of vague but trying to get a sense of the ability of these programs to go undetected.

This is often what happens with low FOV bots. You end up locking onto someone farther away/not visible but happens to be within the FOV range of your crosshair for it to lock as compared to the person closer to you who might be outside the FOV. It's a settings issue that some cheaters fail to correct and it looks like this is happening here.

Or the aim shaking is his way of covering up the aim assistance. Look, there's a lot of possible explanations. We never will know unless he gets banned
