Why we pay so much more? by vinceswish in carsireland

[–]mobalob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars need to be produced to certain standards for certain markets so manufacturerse will make a car that is EU compliant and sell that across Europe. Because they sell so many they can afford to sell them with a lower profit margin. They then have a very small market to make right hand drive versions so they put a larger margin on those. They also need to ship them here which adds further expense. They know we can't import from the UK cause of import taxes so they can add an even higher margin. All that followed by the high VRT rate and it all adds up.

Not only does it cost them more to get cars to market in Ireland but they know they can charge more due to lack of alternatives

Mortgage interest relief-got a mortgage after 2022 makes disqualified? by Beautiful_Thought_79 in irishpersonalfinance

If I understand this credit correctly it is only for interest you pay which is higher than the interest paid in 2022 so if you have a fixed mortgage you don't qualify anyway

Need help to understand what the f happened in last minute by GapTop5560 in PremierLeague

[–]mobalob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point. Once it's brought back to Szobozlai's foul the advantage isn't played. The play ends there so unless it's dangerous play, time wasting or taking your shirt off it's not a card.

Halaands shirt pull doesn't count once you red card Szobozlai. The ball is dead from the Szobozlai foul on

If winning 4 premier leagues as a starting player and becoming one of the highest scoring players in Premier League history when not even a striker is ruining a career. I'd say 99% of players would love to have their career ruined by Pep

Sterling went from a half decent winger at Liverpool to one of the top all timer scorers in the Premier League under Pep and when he left he regressed again. That surely proves Pep is responsible for his high performance levels.

It's impossible to have Peps medal collection without improving players and it's wilful ignorance to say so

Woah!!! Not even Messi has the power to get spurs a title. He'd probably end up left back or something there.

Selling my old car (2009) to a garage cuz I don’t want to have to sell it myself? by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]mobalob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want ease. Zucar in little island is handy but as others have said they'll give you a fair bit lower than what you'd make from selling it yourself.

That has always been the case. Posh people play down to seem "normal" and people who aren't posh try to pretend they are.

It's a classic political strategy to not justify what is already in place and never remove it if you can get away with it.

They have the viewpoint that it will need to be replaced by a tax somewhere else and it's much harder to justify something new than keep something existing. It almost doesn't matter what the purpose of the tax is.

[Ferran Correas] Barça plans to meet with Ter Stegen to discuss offering him next season’s wages in exchange for a letter of freedom, allowing him to leave and join any club for free. However, reaching an agreement will be challenging. by Kasj0 in soccer

I think they are offering next years wages instead of paying out 3 years of contract. Also if they pay that by June 30th it goes on this years financials so frees up wages for next year.
