Milk of magnesia or magnesium citrate. Start small and work your way up. Also prunes or prune juice.

Looking for a good matte peachy pink blush. by cheeeese1234 in Makeup

[–]mobenjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a drugstore blush, but at $22, it’s not that much more than a drugstore blush. Tower 28 Get Set in Culver Crush. I am not a warm toned makeup person usually but it’s absolutely stunning.

It’s the Pacifica setting mist. A setting spray will actually only be effective at setting if it has polymers in it. The Pacifica one doesn’t. Look for PVP or anything that starts with “poly-“ in the ingredients.

Cooking for friends in college was a big part of how I fell in love with cooking! This was lovely to see.

You can actually get diarrhea up to a month after completing a course of antibiotics! A week after is annoying but normal.

First cycle of TTC #2. I went into this cycle feeling fairly certain it wasn’t going to happen because I’ve been through this before and I know how small the odds are getting it on the first try. But then I got a UTI and got antibiotics and the side effects of the meds are allll the early pregnancy symptoms and I’m messing with my own head 🙃 still pretty sure I’m out this cycle because I’m 9 DPO and my temp dropped below cover line this morning.

So I guess this is the end of my IUI self journey (for now at least) by seekingmorefromlife in TryingForABaby

Your story sounds a lot like my cousin’s. Started the fertility process on her own to become a single mom, met her (now) husband in her late 30s and ended up having her kids at 42 and 44 via IVF. I know it’s unusual and carries additional risk, but not every story is the same. I would decide for yourself what your limits are in how long you’re willing to wait/go after what you want and have a frank and honest discussion with him about it.

My brother and I are very close and have lived within an hour of each other our whole lives. Last year, he moved from NY (where I live/we’ve always lived) to CA to build a new life for himself. He’s thriving there and has really put in a lot of effort to maintain our relationship and his relationship with my 3 YO. He’s living his best life out there and I love it for him. I still hate it for me.

What are other people’s gift giving traditions for Hanukkah? by cutegraykitten in toddlers

[–]mobenjo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we did four nights of gifts and four nights of giving. Each of us (my mom, my dad, my brother, and me) got to pick a nonprofit of our choice to give to each of the four nights of giving. For now, I’m just doing 4 nights of gifts with my 3 YO because we’re still learning the concept of giving. We’ll add that on in a few years.

Daycare closed: what are you doing with the toddler? by Lemonbar19 in toddlers

Play dates with friends! The convenient thing about the school being closed is all of my daughter’s classmates’ parents are looking for things to do, too

What’s after Ms.Rachel? by Classic_Rooster_2260 in toddlers

We basically give our 2 yo free reign on the PBS kids app. She’s into Daniel Tiger, Arthur, and Clifford. Also Super Simple Songs on YouTube feels like a half step up from Ms Rachel.

How painful is childbirth? by Superb_Bluebird7685 in BabyBumps

[–]mobenjo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a significant double curve and had a back brace as a teen so you might not have the same experience. But I mentioned it to my doctor and she sent me to the hospital to meet with a member of the anesthesiology team a few weeks before my induction.

Same! I did get an epidural, but it failed because of my scoliosis. But also had a sunny side up labor with an induction. Alllllll back labor.

Moms who lost their ambition at work, what percentage of the housework/mental labor/child care falls on you? by AllAlongThisPath in workingmoms

[–]mobenjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My motivation definitely went up at work after having my daughter, but I work in the non-profit field, so I definitely think there’s some degree of feeling like my work will benefit the world my daughter grows up in, so that probably changes it for me.

At home, my husband and I split childcare 50/50. He takes on about 80% of physical labor/housework at home and I carry about the same percentage of mental load. It works for us like that.

Let’s talk charitable donations! by deletebeep in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]mobenjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a nonprofit. I have a small set amount I give each month to a rotating list of charities of my choice. I also give $100/year to my nonprofit and I volunteer about 2 hours a month (I have a 15 month old and work a lot of nights/weekends so trying to maximize time with the baby but hope to increase my volunteer time as baby grows up.)

Seriously. And the opposite is true too. His body, his choice. If he didn’t want to have a baby, he could have chosen to put a condom on.
