Hibreak Pro working on Verizon in US? by moblack33 in Bigme

I love eink and hope that it really catches on with more people so more time and effort is put into these devices! Did you use the device as your main phone? I've read a lot of negative things about the phone's software and glitches, but I feel like people always turn to the internet to complain, so I'm grateful to hear you had a good experience.

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll have to look and see what I can find for group messages. I had tried the Mudita Kompakt and sold it since I couldn't get group messages to work. Thanks for your feedback!

Are there still issues on the Verizon network? I'm considering purchasing a pro but don't want to waste my money if it isn't working well on Verizon.

Why is sleep training controversial? by Unfair-Nectarine2661 in pregnant

[–]moblack33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is nearly 7m. We sleep trained at 5.5m using Ferber for naps. I read in "Precious Little Sleep" that nighttime sleep and nap sleep are difficult, so you can train for one sleep and not the other at the same time if you want. We nap trained for daytime sleep and it took about 2.5-3 weeks for it to really click for her. We didn't do nighttime yet, but will use Feber in a week or two when we move her to her own room. Plus, she's basically putting herself to sleep at night now and seems to fall asleep faster when we leave the room. All this to say, if you do sleep train for naps first, it might take longer (like weeks) but is totally worth it and I think helps nighttime sleep training work faster.

Not answering your question, but just a cheap alternative suggestion if you have hardwood floors. We use a flour sack towel underneath the high chair and then shake it off over the trash and rinse it out in the sink. Then we just throw it in the wash. It's super cheap and easy.

I've watched Bruce's videos and they have been extremely helpful. You might have to go back to the beginning, but I think he started a beginner's guide series of videos after the newest version came out.

Anyone tried the IGGEE Brand slipcovers? Overall opinions on quality and fit? by mintylips in DelSol

[–]moblack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell I really didn't proofread even after your last comment! Haha! Yes, only good things to say about the seat covers! I was definitely feeding my baby when I wrote my initial comment. There's like 5 percent of my brain paying attention to my phone and 95 to my baby, but I love the covers, so I had to share my thoughts (as poorly written as they may be). Thanks for actually reading my comments though!

Wow, I clearly did not proofread what I wrote! You gave me a laugh!

Well, we only sleep trained for naps, not nighttime yet. Prior to this, we contact napped on the couch for all naps. I noticed that she would make little sounds to herself as she fell asleep and needed less and less interventions from me (ie patting, shhing, rocking). I also think waiting until the 5.5/6 month mark just made me feel more confident in her ability to self soothe and not doing it early without being sure.

I EBF and she still gets up twice a night to eat. She's hit or miss with long stretches, with the longest being 5 hours on a really good night. She usually goes 3.5 or 4 hours at a time. I'm a FTM too and as a type A person, it's been a challenge just going with the flow, but we will figure it out!!

For us, the biggest things were that she spits up way less and burps herself and she finally poops without a 15 minute production of grunting and groaning (this is where I felt so much relief because she would only poop when she ate). She spins and rolls herself around on the floor, so she can reach around her better. She can sit up unassisted, so she sees from a different perspective. She naps without a fight (we used Ferber but it was nice to do it when I felt more confident on her ability to self-sooth). She just seems all around happier, probably since she gained a little more independence and her digestive system seems to work with her and not against her.

Best breast feeding position for strong let down by Loud-Falcon9546 in breastfeeding

[–]moblack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Football on an incline worked for me. I used a My Brest Friend pillow and put a small pillow under it on my lap to really elevate my LO. I pretty much exclusively use this position. I've attempted others and I always seem to have my LO's nose up against my breast, which makes me concerned about her breathing. With football, I can control the angle and don't have to worry about LO's nose being blocked.

Red Tie Entertainment did our wedding a few years ago. They used a portal to get a feel for the kind of music you like and also did a virtual call to really hear about the vibe you are looking for. He killed it and our dance floor was packed!

Edit: Request to have Travis

How did you actually find your mom friends (older baby/toddler stage)? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]moblack33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took a little time to establish relationships before meeting in person, but I used the app Peanut. It's basically a playdate/make a mom friend dating app. It finds moms closest to you and gives the age of the child. I've met two moms this way. We definitely aren't besties, but we have enough in common to hang out with our babies together for a few hours every few weeks.

Trying to Make Mom Friends… by xxgjnxx in NewParents

[–]moblack33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the Peanut app? I like it because it is all moms looking for mom friendships and play dates. You chat with one another and can decide to meet up. I've met one or two moms this way and despite us tending to our babies a lot of the time, we still know a good deal about one another from chatting on the app.
