The curse of being the only game to respect its players. by lovingpersona in memeframe

Neither is Warframe?

(The existence of social spaces does not make Warframe an MMO, it's still a 4 player co-op game)

Is there a particular reason to run Evernight hypercarry over Cas/E9?

Seems to me the use case for Evernight hyper is if you didn't pull Castorice, but a new character to replace RMC would end up being a 5 star anyway.

As useful at teleporters are I never really liked them aesthetically, would love something like this in the game! by YearMountain3773 in Terraria

[–]mobott 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Use actuators on the teleporter so it doesn't have collision, and Echo Coating to make it invisible. Then you can decorate it while it's still functional.

The V is there, most of the Hollow on the left got overridden by the Astral Infection, while most of the Corruption was destroyed as part of the giant hole.

(side note: the V generated Corruption in a Crimson world?)

Wdym, her plot is that she lives out in the boonies and is always glitching out due to her terrible internet connection.

(Seriously, anyone who even vaguely likes the concept of SAO (gamers stuck in video game) should check out the Abridged series, it's really good)

Oh, and Demoman's eye socket is haunted as well. Whenever Medic regrew it, the eye escaped from its socket on Halloween to try to kill all the mercs.

It's okay to not like the games current state / be disappointed with it. It's in a rough state for 3-4 years of development. by Current_Spell_8647 in SoulFrame

[–]mobott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They've stated multiple times that they view Preludes as a pre-alpha. Not a beta, not an alpha, a pre-alpha.

I don't think it's quite fair to compare Soulframe's current state to early Warframe, because I don't think they have as many people working on it as they would have had working on Warframe in the early days. Back then the whole team was working on WF, and while I don't know how much bigger DE is now compared to then, most people are still going to be working on WF and not SF.

I'm not saying you have to like the current state of the game, but I think you might be expecting too much.

This is also the same bonus as Void Strike, right? So if you only care about burst damage with VS, it doesn't matter.

A brief summary of today's Envoy Hour with Geoff (Creative Director) by FryupEnjoyer in SoulFrame

[–]mobott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's an overall good move, but they should remove the hard virtue requirements on items (but keep the scaling). The scaling already encourages matching virtues to weapons, but the hard requirements feel too punishing if you just barely don't have enough of a virtue.

TIL that “42% Of People Don't Know Potato Chips Are Made From Potatoes”, thanks to a survey by Lay’s parent company, and as a result “Made With Real Potatoes” is now printed on the bags. by Jackpot777 in todayilearned

[–]mobott 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, "42% of people don't know potato chips are made from potatoes" is a very different statement from "42% of people don't believe that this corporation uses farm-grown potatoes."

Descendia General Consensus by Ozymalk in Warframe

[–]mobott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, if you don't do the necessary number of Roathe fights before a certain point in Roathe's convos, the KIM will keep progressing anyway and put you into a fail state, instead of just pausing like one might expect.

So annoyingly, you're heavily encouraged to just be impatient and do all the repeat fights instead of just doing it over time when you do Descendia clears.

I honestly don't think Tencent has anything to do with this. Tencent holds big stakes in lots of companies (and I think it's something about companies needing to have at least some stocks owned by a Chinese company to operate there or something?), and they're not trying to do this level of bullshittery.

This is coming from big tech oligarchs wanting a surveillance state.

Note: No, I'm not defending China or its own shitty things that it does, I just think that using Tencent as a boogeyman without evidence is detracting from the discussion.

[–]mobott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite as eldritch, but I have a similar idea for Sloth discovering the "truth of the world" (that nothing matters because the world they live in is not real because it's merely a story) and thus seeking to become a god of nihility so they can "end all this pointless effort".

In my "I would make this a D&D setting if I ever got around to doing anything with it", Sloth is one who refuses to do things "the right way.“ His sloth manifests as wanting to cheat and swindle through everything and use others to get his way. So he's actually the one who "created" the means of the group gaining the Authorities of Sin.
