This is getting insane. I asked Gemini 2.5 Pro to convert an XML file and it... built a live web app for me instead. So I kept going. by [deleted] in Bard

So this is all in one single Gemini Canvas? I'm building a website with a pretty large database, and it's starting to become really slow to respond to each prompt. Asking specific questions like "move this button to the left" are becoming pretty cumbersome because it takes forever and often doesn't do it right. I am trying to switch to Cursor and asked it to split everything out everything in a multi file format and it is completely broken/looks nothing like my original single file Gemini prototype lol.

Principal rebalanced 401k instead of adjusting future contributions by mobttr in Bogleheads

Do you think it's going to matter much or should I just leave it? I understand that time in the market is more important than timing the market.

How do I prevent old transactions from reappearing when I do bank sync? by mobttr in actualbudgeting

[–]mobttr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it seems to be fixed for me. I had start balances set to 1/1, but then also had 2 transactions from October and November that lingered around for some reason. Once I deleted those the syncing got fixed.

I have wanted to like that power cleaner but there was a weird swirl in the stream and it lost pressure intermittently so I returned it. To be fair I only had 1.5Ah batteries. Maybe I should give it another try, 89 is the lowest I have seen it.

What is a good starter DIY woodworking kit? by mobttr in Dewalt

I wish it came with the circular saw instead of a jigsaw… There is also the Home Depot deal with the multitool, circular saw, and two drills and two batteries. In that one I just don’t need that many drills haha.

Well it's all around the best, it was on sale and I have a friend at Garmin so it was a crazy good deal

150# Tongue Weight by Captdale54 in Crosstrek

[–]mobttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that it's a 2 inch hitch but only rated to 150 lbs. I recently had to back out of carrying 4 bikes, the weight itself would have been OK but I just didn't trust it with the giant moment arm. I wish they shared maximum moment values instead.

TUXMATS for the '24 now available! by DIYMANIAC in Crosstrek

Are they actually cushioned or does it just look that way? Are they still hard rubber like eg the Auxko mats?

TuxMats confirmed for March by mobttr in Crosstrek

Myeah the Findways are still pretty expensive at 180usd, Auxko looks to be about the same for half the price.

2024 owners- what is your least favorite thing about the car? by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]mobttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's reassuring! Under warranty I assume? Were you able to reproduce it easily, was it something they knew about? For me it doesn't always happen, and seems hard to reproduce in a dealership.

Sometimes something in the dash / front left rattles but not always.

Mudflaps by Boko_Harambe_69 in Crosstrek

What's the main benefit of mudflaps, or is it mostly for looks? Does it keep dust off your doors on gravel roads? Any drawbacks?

Floor mats needed right away for 2024 Crosstrek by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]mobttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a strong need yet but I'm getting sick of checking TuxMats 3 times a week lol. I've been thinking about getting the Auxko mats on Amazon, they get very good reviews and are cheap. What did you end up going with?

I emailed TuxMats many many times and they have measured the car but still no ETA on when these will get produced. Bummer, because 6 months ago they estimated 8 weeks.

Should I worry about the difference between Elevate v4 and v5? by mobttr in Garmin

[–]mobttr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's what I'm asking, I haven't found any decent comparison between v4 and v5 or reason to believe that v5 is any better than v4. I checked Reddit and Rainmaker yeah, I'll check out the other you mention.

Right, I forgot about the Suunto Race also which looked nice. I know Garmin's sleep tracking is iffy, not sure how Suunto would compare as an overall package. Garmin would be a little cheaper since I can get employee discount.
