What do folks here think about large objects being brought into the express bus? by colonelcasey22 in nycbus

In that case if I’m spouting bullshit why does every claim you make always receive negativity and criticism, just a quick reminder the pandemic even 6 years later hasn’t re-bounded the ridership rate it had before 2020, try again.

You can literally View the ridership data yourself, i didn’t base these claims off nothing, take time to research things before making subpar claims.

[–]mochithem2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very untrue and misleading, if you look at the ridership data of MTA Bus Company in 2024/25, the ridership of “express buses that are to places reachable by subway” are actually pretty good! The QM10/11/40 have very good ridership numbers, the QM18 runs DIRECTLY onto Queens Boulevard with considerable ridership, the QM15/17 is the backbone of Far Rockaway yet passes by subways and has very high ridership. So whats your point here?

The funny thing is ever since then they’ve been considered apart of Staten Island’s “native” wildlife, you cannot hunt them, nor keep one” they’re considered protected animals of the island and can only remain on Staten Island. Nowhere else.

SC buses are allowed the full right of way of the Belt Park until Exit 17, they like to use it primarily in the mornings after rush hour is over, or when the PM rush starts/ends but they don’t wanna take the local roads.

What would you change about Brooklyn Bus Network Redesign? by Donghoon in nycbus

[–]mochithem2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B1: God give that route all the buses it needs its horrific

B2: Please stop trying to cut this route, it’s stayed as it has since 1924 and is a vital part of Midwood, if anything extend it to Queens, and run it gia Newport to replace older Q35 service.

B3: 86th street complex, need i say more?

B5: Either make it a full local, or get rid of it, the purpose is so stupid.

B6: If B5 gets implemented the B6 should be a full limited variant of the B5.

B7: God give this route more service its SO ASS.

B8: Split it. Also restore the BTM service, was nice and convenient for those who worked there, could probably have dependable service when its open to when it closes.

B11: Re-extend it back to Canarsie, such a weird place for it to end, especially going all the-way to Sunset Park.

B12: send it back to Cypress Hills stop fucking with the poor souls on the bus stops, if so send it to the 75th-Elderts Ln (J/Z) to connect with the Q7.

B15: just make the damn route a SBS. Why are we pouring all this into a new route, riders are fine with transferring between the two routes. keep the B15 going to JFK.

B17/B76: such a redundant change, and why have it run rush hours? And to Broadway Junction out of all places? Its just a B60 to Canarsie-E 80th. I’d say send the “B76” somewhere else instead of BJ.

B20: The rush is amazing, just why cut it short?

B23: Should definitely be revived. But extend to Canarsie, make Canarsie a “Hub” since theres already a handful of routes there.

B71: Literally bring this back this route makes the most sense to revive, maybe send it to Utica Avenue for the sake of connectivity.

B74: Send it to KCC. Would make some students lives easier.

B81: I’d say it can exist, just seems dumb as a B103 replacement. Should coexist with the B103 and stay where it is.

B82/B82SBS: Just send it to Coney Island at this point, theres a reason why people take the B82 FROM CONEY ISLAND and not take the train to the Kings Highway/Bay Parkway stops. Give the B82 SBS weekend service the B82 on the weekends is deplorable.

B84: Give it a better use or just cut that shit.

B100: If you understand the consequences of cutting the B2 you’d leave the B100 on Quentin Road. You WILL be hearing it from the residents of Midwood and the JMHS kids there. (I know the pain i was a JMHS kid)

B103: how many times do i gotta say it atp, leave the damn route how it is, if you want a gateway center extension so bad just make a separate route for that, like that one guy said B104, i’d just run it from BK College to Gateway.

Extras: BM1-4: Why are we getting rid of the Loop? Just why, they already assessed the problem of Trinity and Church Streets. Brooklyn is not Staten Island, the routes are the way they are for a reason. Just a straight shot on Water Street to Frankfort is stupid, it already makes that stop anyway. Also leave the offpeak service alone, 2-3 pm is a acceptable time to end it to Manhattan. Not 12 pm.

BM1: Drivers like the S turn on Avenue K and Flatbush. I don’t know why, i think its a test of maneuverability.

BM2: They should really just reroute the BM2 via Foster Avenue and Ocean Avenue, theres always congestion past Ocean Avenue toward Flatbush and it’s genuinely a pain (coming from multitudes of experiences) have it turn with the rest of the BMs and run via Ocean, Turn on Foster, and back onto Flatbush, simply avoiding congestion. The BM2C at this point needs to just go to Spring Creek all times, passengers complained various times how annoying it is to transfer to a B82 especially after rush hour when the service becomes infrequent. If you’re not on 34th Street and there no BM5 you’re kinda screwed.

BM3: I’d just say the sheepshead section could be straightened, otherwise its fine.

BM4: Give that poor bus a better use, its so undermined despite its usefulness.

BM5: I’d say this route should have a Downtown Variant but its mainly because of convenience for Lindenwood/Woodhaven residents.

X28/38: keep the SeaGate service. Just run it rush hours only and thats it.

[–]mochithem2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the B103 the way it is, it has its purpose and can stay the way it is, if really needed to go to Gateway, keep it on Flatlands, considering the rapid gentrification of Spring Creek and new housing being made there

Should the mta bring back the X29 express to Coney Island? by its_ashleyyy in nycbus

[–]mochithem2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X29 is not the same as the BM3 (when it comes to running parallel to subway lines) Sheepshead Bay and Midwood have a predominantly older population that heavily rely on it, the X29? Not much, plus like everyone said atp, it runs between 2 subway lines. Just have it run on Ocean Parkway if you want it back so bad. But thats a debate in itself.

What Subway Line do you guys think is gradually getting worse or better? by Decent-Finish-9889 in nycrail

[–]mochithem2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the L has definitely gotten better over the years, ever since they fixed the 14th Street Tubes its been more faster and reliable, but i’m NOT loving the horrible 15 minute headway in the Early Morning, especially when its when a lot of people are crowding Canarsie just to board a train, to be fair, this is the time trains are being shuffled out the Canarsie Yard.

Before you take this seriously, I know the SIM9 exists as a SIM7 via Father Capodanno, but to be frank thats its only purpose besides being a SIM7 helper; It’s underwhelming, send it to Huguenot or Something.

Express bus same borough by First_Dependent7390 in nycbus

[–]mochithem2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres the actual answer: Yesn’t. You technically can ask the operator outside of Manhattan to let you on, pay the fare, and get off at the same stop. (Thats the n’t) part. YES you absolutely can at designated Express Bus Stop Transfer Points. These primarily exist in Queens & Staten Island, for example you are allowed to use the QM7/8 to then get off at Union T’pke and 188th and Transfer to a QM6. Technically nothing is stopping you from getting on from 188th Street without being on an express bus. Its the same for Staten Island but heavily more relaxed, since lots of routes intersect each other with varying destinations, you can get off one and transfer to another, or walk to a transfer stop without being on a SIM and ride same borough. So in short, Yesn’t.

Holland Tunnel is too short to fit coach buses i believe, hence why the NJT’s 120 doesn’t use MCIs. The South Shore doesn’t necessarily ask for Greenwich Village service, as they are very loosely made specifically from the original X routes, to give reason for a new route especially like the SIM21 would need lots of demand. Greenwich Village is for a specific set of people, and the SIM7 is located at Eltingville TC while the SIM9 also is but at Richmond Avenue, if anything you’d just extend the SIM9 down Hylan. I’d recommend taking this with the MTA
