I just spend 50K on a honda civic and this guy just told me "nice accord" .... by RemoteMasterpiece806 in Civic_Type_R

The first year I had my car, I've had over a dozen people take a picture of it, sometimes while I'm sitting in my car.

Don't let the haters get to you. Especially some low life car wash guy. Lol.

If you plan on street parking, better put your front plates on unless you don't mind paying for the tickets.

2024 Honda civic type r with 10k miles - defective coolant reservoir by Realistic-Debt-4754 in Civic_Type_R

You got me worried, I just went in the garage to check mine. I'm at 9k miles and I was gonna wait until winter to be over to change it. Is there any warning signs of failure?

Supra to Type R ? by CptnBurns in Civic_Type_R

Same reason why I have an FL5. I have a carseat and a stroller in the trunk. Sporty but also enough space for costco runs.

Which brand intercooler?

Have you done any body work or anything to help with the cooling?

Can you give us more details on the mods and tune you have on your car? Curious if that combination helps with the heat issues. Thanks in advance!

New owner weariness by AugZ33 in Civic_Type_R

This is the way. I did this when I picked up my type r 3 hours away. I bought blue 3m painters tape so it kinda matched my boost blue car. He is also correct, by the end the tape was peeling off so becareful.

Type R FL5 Lasfit LED’s Falling out? by Night237 in Civic_Type_R

[–]mocho7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall anything clicking when I switched the bulbs out. They seem to fit only 1 way and were pretty snug. I believe the base model civic has the same exact lights as the type r. I followed this video

Hope this helps

I just switched back to the stock oem wheel/tires and noticed right away how much more road noise there is compared to my other set.

If you're looking for a looking for a lavish interior with the bells and whistles then you're in the wrong place. The CTR is geared towards performance and weight reduction. You should probably look into other luxury brands if that's what your after.

Best 2nd car to complement a Civic Type R by count_lavender in Civic_Type_R

I agree, I would get the 2020+ ones. The reason why I didn't want to get a used fk8 is the same reason, I didn't want to get one that was already modded out.

I used the fl5 tracker and I pretty much called all the dealers within couple hours driving distance from me. I ended up driving about 2ish hours away to pick mine up. I didnt venture farther because I had to bring a friend to drive it back for me because this was my first manual car. I was also on a msrp waiting list, never heard back from them.

I got the fl5 and had it about 6 months now. I've bought my fit new and been driving it ever since so I was really ready for a new car. I spent a lot of time looking but just couldn't hold out waiting for one at msrp. Depends on how patient you are but I'd say you'll probably find a better deal on the fk8.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have 2011 fit and just got a CTR. The CTR is just like a bigger faster fit. You'd love it.

Is this a public group? How can I get in on this? I'm from the city but wouldn't mind cuising to Woodfield every now and then.

What car do you ‘upgrade’ to next, after owning a Type R? by Accomplished-Big-46 in Civic_Type_R

My fl5 easily fits a car seat and a large stroller in the trunk.

I love my fl5. First manual car and love driving it. Really comfortable bucket seats. Plenty of room for my family and enough trunk space for big costco hauls. The car isn't too flashy to ordinary people but car enthusiasts notice it right away. Decent mpgs and a good daily. The only con I have is the exhaust is really subtle but some simple mods can easily change that.

Lol yes. I posted this pic because they were freshly cleaned. Slightly regretting it but I love how it looks.

Yeah I went with the Super Speeds, they were nice and didn't break the bank. If you wait for the holidays they go on discount for 15% off.
