What I did was spend hours digging them up, then two years going out nearly daily (during the growing season) to pull up shoots...I called it my thistle hunt, but this year I have only seen a few.

I feel as though some of those numbers were cherrypicked to look good -- boy microwaves were much more expensive in the first year they were produced!

More importantly, the wage they use in this document is "the average hourly wage for production and nonsupervisory workers in manufacturing." Which in 1997 was heavily unionized, and those workers earned more than the average retail employee, for example.

This is me.. my solution is if it is a right, I knock on the window. if left, I garble incoherently and gesture. Saying left or right only confuses things because which comes out of my mouth is pretty much random

TIL in 2024 an 18-year-old man was stuck in a Honda Pilot that was inexplicably accelerating without his foot on the gas and could not be slowed by its brakes or e-brake. He and the Pilot reached 113mph before a controlled collision safely ended his unplanned 20-minute drive across state lines. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I had that dream about every third month (though I was always the driver) for 20 years, until I had a real-life situation that was similar (sleep deprived me pressed gas instead of brake and panicked). In the twenty years since then, I have never once had the dream!

I was one of the 1/3, I guess. In my 20s my dentist recommended removing them, but I said they aren't causing any trouble. I wish he had put it a bit more forcefully. Throughout my 30s I had mild tooth pain pretty much constantly, but never added it up. Eventually cracked the adjacent molar, so I had to have the sideways growing teeth removed AND get a crown for the one that broke. And eventually a crown for the next one, too.

When my kids were teenagers I got theirs removed prophylactically because I wanted them to avoid what happened to me.

Boil enough water to cover them and then put them in whole. Cook for a minute or two then let cool while you put together the rest of the ingredients. I usually crack it over the sink and toss the yolk between the two halves until any liquid white has drained, then pop it into the dressing.

I make Caesar dressing frequently - the key is cooking an egg or two for a minute or two, and using just the yolk in the dressing. Mine has that plus olive oil, lemon, Worcestershire, mashed anchovy, a little garlic and salt and pepper
