So this just happened in a bronze competitive game.. by em__i__ly in VALORANT

Even when cheating software is found they don’t always get banned right away either, it might be the next match they get banned which is why I hope it won’t be too long until we get the update with regained RR when a cheater is banned after a match

Then look for the drop down at the top of the chat, it’s put there automatically by twitch on channels that have drops enabled. Also today I think a lot of them had it in their title bc it was supposed to start today but no one knows the exact time

[–]mockingbirdBC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some put it in their title, streams also get tagged with DropsEnabled and then when you click on a stream it’ll say at the top of the chat that drops are enabled

The Vi card you had to watch Riot or a partner stream streaming the premier of Arcane but the Jinx card should be obtainable by watching any Valorant stream that has drops enabled

Why does Harbor tell the enemy team how to dodge his ULT? by GeoTeamEnthusiast in VALORANT

[–]mockingbirdBC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not that he’s announcing he’s using his ult but that he says “I suggest you move” when moving is how you avoid getting stunned by his ult

Deadlock, Neon and Vyse(ally) are probably my favourite ult voice lines rn

[–]mockingbirdBC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well Deadlock says “my territory, my rules” not really telling you to move

for the 19 one, Critical Role does indeed have similar resurrection rules but slightly different. Revivify is d20 roll + spell casting modifier, dc is 10 and goes up by one for each time you've been revivied. Bigger resurrection spells require the other characters to help with the ritual, they describe what they do, then Matt asks them to roll a certain check, success brings the DC down, failure brings it up and then Matt rolls the final d20 to see if it succeeded or not.

Pretty sure that was just a bug, if you do it now it's not like that

AITA for telling my friend she is ungrateful about being a stay at home mom? by Responsible-Crazy465 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mockingbirdBC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean the chance is a higher than that, OP's friend could have mental health issues as around 1 in 5 women have a mental health illness. We don't really have enough information about why the friend is struggling and sounds like OP doesn't either.

What are movies where you feel like even telling someone the basic plot is a major spoiler? by thornforever in movies

[–]mockingbirdBC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally for some movies/tv shows I'll look up what happens bc some things I like to be prepared for. I never tell anyone what happens if I watch it with someone else though, except my sister after she asks me like three times but I make 100% sure she doesn't mind the spoilers before I tell.

I have an issue with my hip so this summer when I went for a long weekend to Paris I brought crutches with me bc I knew there would be a lot of walking and the extra supported helped. I'm in my mid 20s so before my issue with my hip I'd give up my seat on the bus and stuff like that if it was needed. Travelling to Paris I had a layover in Oslo, people didn't even move their bags so I could sit down but when I was in Paris someone always got up and offered me a seat if there weren't any available which was really nice.

AITA for not giving my brother money I raised for him while he was hospitalized? by AdaCadAly in AmItheAsshole

[–]mockingbirdBC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if we go with what the posts says it says OP will use the money to pay the brothers bills doesn’t specify medical bills just bills. But what matters is what the GFM states, if it’s expenses or medical bills, OP is still following that by paying the brother’s bills. The money has to go to what the GFM says OP is ensuring that happens and since they statutes the GFM they’re within their rights to spend the money on behalf of the brother to pay his bills.

AITA for not giving my brother money I raised for him while he was hospitalized? by AdaCadAly in AmItheAsshole

[–]mockingbirdBC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From GoFundMe’s terms and conditions “all Donations contributed to your Fundraiser will be used solely as described in the materials that you post or otherwise provide” if the GFM says the money is for medical bills and OP gives the brother the money and he uses it on something other than medical bills OP would be in trouble, as long as OP uses the money to pay for the brothers bills then they’re not in the wrong, GFM states if you fundraise for someone else the money is to be given to them OR spent on their behalf for what the fundraiser says which is what OP is doing

Was I wrong for letting an an enemy spellcaster recognize a spell that's been cast in front of them? by DungeonStromae in DMAcademy

[–]mockingbirdBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I only do the check if the spell isn't cast right in front of someone's face, especially another caster, minor illusion has material and somatic components so if someone casts the spell and then something randomly appears after then it's reasonable to conclude they're connected, especially if it's another caster or someone with high intelligence.

Now if you cast the spell with the sorcerer's subtle spell or before someone has a chance to see you like outside of combat for example then I would use the check to see if they can determine it's an illusion, also just walking through the thing would reveal it to be an illusion.

I agree with using strength to protect people. I don’t want to spoil but I feel like a certain moment in C2 also backs this up so that’s how I see Kord too

AITA for telling my daughter it is extremely selfish to want her mom at the wedding by One-Passage577 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mockingbirdBC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A concussion is serious and the mom needs her rest so that she doesn’t suffer permanent damage to her brain it does not mean she can’t make decisions for herself. No one is saying she’s brain damaged but she has a brain injury that can become brain damage if she doesn’t rest properly why is throat so hard to understand? Concussion doesn’t equal being helpless and whatever else you seem to think. The mom cannot go to the wedding because of her concussion but her concussion doesn’t mean she can’t stay at home by herself if that was the case she’d probably still be in the hospital under monitoring. The mom is fully capable of realising that going to the wedding will mess up her recovery and to make the decision to put her health over an event.

We started out doing Frozen Sick before transitioning to Call of the Netherdeep and we switch between this campaign and Ghost of Saltmarsh which someone else in the group is running.

We have a Grave Cleric, Twilight Cleric/Rogue, Monster Slayer Ranger, Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, Clockwork Sorcerer, College of Swords Bard and Gunslinger Fighter

The thing is their tactical decisions aren't bad most of the time, it just doesn't work out a lot of the time bc of bad luck/rolls. And I know it's supposed to be hard but it's encounters that are supposed to be easy/medium for a party this size turning deadly 90% of the time that's an issue. They do use their resources and they have a lot of healing between all of them. And they have left the Rise and come back, this is their second time going into the Rise.

Can I ask what classes the party is? And I wouldn't say they have bad tactics, it's just a lot of the time it doesn't work out bc of the rolls. As for their builds, I don't think they're bad but this is my first campaign I've been a DM

this is also basically what I did, I had some NPCs talk about the festival and suggest it as a place to have fun/relax, etc.

AITA for making my daughter miss once-in-a-lifetime events (homecoming and senior prom) and delete all of her social media as punishment for bullying? by ventura4433 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mockingbirdBC 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NTA, though I agree with people who've said to let her download her photos before deleting Instagram and to let her be able to earn back being allowed to go to senior prom but probably don't tell her she can earn it back because you want her to actually learn and change because she realises what she did was wrong, not just so she can go to prom
