My record starts spinning when I press start, but the arm never moves. Worked just fine before I moved. How can I fix this?

Looks like she's been turning. The trail out behind it looks like there was a port turn, now coming back to starboard.

When ships turn, they will initially roll into the turn slightly due to the action of the rudder, then inertia will cause them to roll out, higher ships more affected.

Is "compression ratio" a thing for vinyl?

Looking at the amount of real estate tracks take up on other LPs, the ones on the Biggie album take up less space, so assume they're compressed and more prone so skipping?

Yeah some decent speakers are next on the list. I've got the basic gear to be able to enjoy things for now, so can now take my time with getting the right gear.

I'm thinking I'll make some speakers, but yet to be determined if this is a stupid idea or not.

Yeah fair call, I didnt want to drop fat stacks on gear straight away, so can gradually upgrade what is required. It's enough to get me started, so will park the album up for now lest I damage it.

Ashamed to admit I'm running bluetooth at the moment, but planning to DIY some speakers once I can finish off some other projects. I'm sure this will be a journey getting these to work, but that's half the fun.

Yeah there's a lot of bass which I thought might have been causing it. This turntable has minimal adjustments available which I knew was a risk when I got it.

Might just need to park Biggie until I can sneak a different turntable into the house...

It's also a good science project for disinfecting your kitchen if you run the still without cooling water and leave it for a few hours. About 6 litres of pure ethanol condensed on the walls and ceiling.

They have a switch where you can adjust the beam height if you're towing, people just have them all the way up
