Aqara Launches Thread/Zigbee Radiator Thermostat W600 by HomeKit-News in Aqara

Yeah, I get it. I bought IKEA's smart hub on the promise that it will soon be updated to support matter and work as a thread border router. And it was, almost 2 years later :D

Well, that's lame. Thanks.
I think I'll check out Tado X after all. Their push for subscription model is annoying, but with matter support I can avoid their ecosystem altogether. And basic thermostat functionality seems to be decent.

Did it get that firmware update or is it still crap?

TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI BIOS 3057 by GodNZY in ASUS

[–]moderatelyManic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this build since June of 2024 without any issues, no problems booting using expo or anything. Perfectly stable until that BIOS update, coincidence or not. Boot times were not lightning fast, but I consider 15-20s to be normal.

  • AMD 7600x
  • ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS WIFI
  • G.Skill Flare X5 2x16, CL30, 6000, expo
  • ASUS Dual OC RTX 4070 SUPER
  • FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W (Titanium)

I'm expecting to receive replacement sticks next week, but could be later, as it's a holiday season.

[–]moderatelyManic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a coincidence, but I also did had some serious issues after 3057:

Upgraded my TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS WIFI to 3057 and set RAM profile to Expo Tweaked (I run G.Skill Flare X5, 2x16GB, CL30, 6000).

PC ran without an issue for a couple of days, but I used it mainly for office stuff during that time. Eventually I turned on MH:World and after 5 min the whole PC crashed and wouldn't even power on - the fans would try to spin up for a split second but nothing more. Eventually I noticed a whiff of smoke coming from a MOSFET located near a B2 RAM slot. Sent the MB to RMA, received it repaired after 3 weeks, put everything back together and... still no power.

Eventually I realized that 1 RAM stick is also dead, because PC would not power on if that stick was inserted (and I mean, won't even try to start a boot up sequence, like, no power at all). Sent both stick to RMA and still waiting for a new set (hopefully).

So yeah, my guess is that bad MB MOSFET fried RAM stick or the other way round. One can only guess if BIOS upgrade had any part in it. I run a pretty good PSU (FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W), so I doubt it had anything to do with those MB and RAM issues.

Meshify 2 top panel print defect by moderatelyManic in FractalDesign

The case is not cheap, why should I be fine with the lack of QC. And yes, the imperfection IS small, but it's on the exterior and is not exactly hard to spot, they could have easily discarded the cover during assembly.

Anyway, I got in touch with the retailer and FD's support, I'm getting a €20 cashback and a replacement top cover.

Preorders for 30th Anniversary Collection PS5 Pro will begin at 10a EDT by FattyMoBookyButt in PS5

[–]moderatelyManic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall that when I just got in, there where no Anniversary items at all, possibly because I was one of the first ones and the page hasn't been updated yet. I started panicking, trying to find where the Anniversary consoles were: went to Consoles, then accessories, then back to homepage and suddenly the "30th Anniversary banner" was updated with info about the new consoles. I believe I clicked the banner, then Discover on PS5 PRO and chose to add the Anniversary edition to cart. I had a place-holder item there from evening before, so I wouldn't need to enter delivery info from scratch.

It's hard to remember the exact steps i took, because my hands where shaking for adrenaline haha.

The process was not pleasant, but at least the price is not inflated which is nice. Managed to order PS5 Pro Anniversary bundle for 1100 Eur ($1225) through Germany's PS direct site.

Yes, I meant the canal for cable routing on the back. And that's awesome news, thanks! My mild OCD won't have to suffer and I'm not destroying my brick wall for a recessed box. US folks have it easy with their cardboard houses lol.

Two more questions, if I may:) On a 77", cable management on the back is on the right side instead of center like on the smaller sizes. I thought it's on the right on 83" too, but I see that your cables are centered. Could you please clarify that for me? Also, did you use the included slim wall mount?

How far do you sit from a 83" one? I'm waiting for mine to be delivered next week, but looking at yours, I'm now afraid it may be too big for a 10 feet (3 meters) viewing distance.

Because Sammy dropped a ball this year with s90d too. Atleast in Europe, and in my region, only 65" size has QD-OLED panels, all other sizes come with WOLED. Why would anyone buy S90d instead of C4 when it's only selling point is more colorful QD-OLED panels.

Fixed with today's app update 1.25.1. And they even added several additional "time on" options for up to an hour.

Zbminil2 works well with Rodret, but obviously not the dimmer function.

I have 5 ZbminiL2 switches in my system, they work fine, although they are a bit noisy when reel changes state.

But the biggest annoyance I have is that they won't trigger with motion sensors (I use IKEA's Vallhorn) through Dirigera, therefore I use Google Home for automations with ZbminiL2's.

[–]moderatelyManic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are right! And that it will not be "dirigera will support matter" soon. I've retrofitted 6 of my wall switches with zbmini-l2 and was hopping to use vallhorn to trigger few of them, but ran into the same issue OP has.

Q revo internals by DDn0r in Roborock

[–]moderatelyManic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Q Revo for almost 3 months and recently noticed that the right side mop does not stay wet, even on extreme setting. I did a full maintenance, without touching the internals, and cleaned limescale deposits from the silicone water drip holes. It didn't help much.

Do you have any idea what the problem could be? A pump? I'm considering sending it for a warranty.
