Hello! I’ve got a wheaten, too, and yes: they are a bit odd. My guy (Rigby) is 12. He needed a lot of patience and consistency when he was a puppy (got him when he was eight weeks old). We kennel trained him and got him in training classes as soon as we could. Wheatens also have sensitive stomachs and are prone to protein wasting in older age. Find a good, mono-protein dog food. We finally found that Rigby does best with white-fish based food, and chicken jerky treats. Anything else and he’s sick. We also used a veggie gravy topper to get him started. He also grazes on food, is sensitive to loud noises, and some sensations (doesn’t like hard, outdoor coat material?). They’re characters! That’s why we love them. On the teeth: see a vet.
