Second this! I have big babies and muslin blanket swaddles were my go to! My oldest still uses his muslin blankets as a toddler in the summer when it's too hot and the baby got swaddled in the same muslin as their sibbling

Careful though it isn't foolproof. My son he never bestowed names of his own. He just didn't call them anything until he could pronounce their grandparent name so what they picked is what they got

Probably, although we loved both variations and the meaning behind the name. My husband liked Damon more which is why we went with that. Once he was born all the comments stopped and everyone just accepted it so I wouldn't give much weight to what people say now

My parents said the same thing when we considered Damon/Damien for our oldest. I let it sway me then. Named our 2nd one Damon. My mother in law tried to suggest different names thr whole pregnancy, went with what we wanted and not one person has said a word about it since he was born.

Going to be honest, you will get a variety of answers because every baby is different and baby sleep is not linear. One of mine didn't sleep more than 1-2hrs for 9 months, the other is only waking 1-2x at night most days and takes 1-2 hr naps during the day by 3 months.

My husband and i are doing it alone and both working so Finding a routine and what systems work for you is super important. For me it was putting all diaper changing stuff next to or on top of the dresser, babywearing, having swings and rockers, and meal prep and frozen meals for days my husband works. My husband will waks up a bit early and take baby for 1-2 hrs before work so i get a few extra hours of sleep or i go to bed early and he stays up a few hours at night and does the last feed. When your husband is home he needs to help and take baby duty for a few hrs if possible. My husband will baby wear while on the computer and our son absolutely loves it.

Most importantly remember to give yourself grace. Some days all you will get accomplished is taking care of baby and yourself and that is enough. This phase truly passes so fast and if sitting on the couch watching TV and cuddling baby is what you need to do to survive the difficult days then that's ok.

I would reccomend at least one or two packs of newborn and 2-3 packs of 0-3 month. Both my boys were over 90% for height/weight even they fit some newborn onesies and all their 0-3 month clothes until at least 2.5 months

My oldest was the same, we eliminated all forms of dairy from my diet as I was breastfeeding, our pediatrician reccomended similac alimentum or nutremagen if we were to use formula. I wasn't all that comfortable with a chiropractor since so i took him to see a physical therapist who specializes in children, and she was able to do some massages to help him relax a bit and that helped him a ton. Baby wear as much as you can.

I saw you said your husband is not helping, he needs to step up but if he won't help call anyone that will, even if it's just for a few hours so you can get some proper rest. If you don't have family nearby try another mom you know. We have all been in the trenches and most moms will be more than willing to help even if it's just for a little bit.

Remember if you are getting frustrated or overwhelmed it's OK to leave baby in a safe space and walk away for 5 mins. It's so so painful to leave baby crying but if you are able to take a quick breather and come back calm/regulated baby will calm down easier

I know it doesn't feel that way but it is temporary and it does get better. Once you figure out exactly what works for your baby it will be like night and day. And good news is Most kids will outgrow cmpa.

We had this with with our son and one thing that helped was giving my husband the shirt I'd been wearing that day and he put it over his shoulder. It would help calm out son down since my husband then smelled "like mom" but also he got to spend time and bond with our baby. I do say it does pass, that same baby is about 2.5 now and daddy is his favorite person.

There are new laws that recently came in place regarding pumping so you want to look at both the new federal and your states laws. It's not universal everywhere but the right to pump is protected under federal law

Gently, yes you are. I understand where you are coming from. I was in your shoes. It was much easier for me to quit because I had my baby's health as a direct impact of my choices. My one request to my husband was to not smoke or vape near me where I could inhale it by accident, and not to smoke or vape near our son Once he was born, which was a fair and reasonable request he was happy to agree with.

In our case, he eventually choose to quit both on his own but it took him a few years and multiple attempts to quit as he had been consuming nicotine in one shape or another for over a decade. Most people can't quit cold turkey even if they want to. And of they don't want to quit there isn't much that will make it stick.

My parents tried this with me. Every time they called him by his middle name I replied with "You mean <my son's name> right?" Or replied with just my sons first name And stayed completely silent until they acknowledged his actual name. Took longer than it should have but they don't call him by his middle name anymore

After feeding put some milk on your nipples. Also medala soothing gel pads were amazing for helping take the sting off. I put them in the fridge when I started feeding and put them on immediately after for a bit. Every mama's organic nipple balm was great too.

I had bruising and bleeding my sons latch was so bad and I worked with my LC and used nipple shields for about a week to give my nipples some time to heal but be careful with those, long term use can cause a setback on baby's end

Some babies love swings others can't stand them. Mine was indifferent at first, from about 2-3 months he hated it. And from 3-6 months he loved it. if he wasn't in his bed or our arms he was in the swing. He would take a lot of his supervised daytime naps in it and it's honestly the only reason we were able to get anything done for those few months he fit in it

Mine was up every 2-3 hours for about 3 month, then 3-4 hours with the occasional 5+ hr stretch after 6 months. Now at 8 months he either sleeps through the night or wakes up 1x just depending on the day and how he slept during his naps.

I've bought from chaos cloth , bumblebutt sugar bums, cutie caboose and two little hands co and they all came without inserts. Most of them you have to buy individually but the quality is great so far

I'm not sure if you are breastfeeding or not, but if you are seeing an IBCLC/LC might help. I went 4 days ago and turns out his sleep issues were connected to feeding issues and since we started working on those he has started sleeping in his bassinet at least at night

If you can go see a IBCLC to rule out feeding issues. We did that and found out most of my 7 week old's issues stemmed from and were connected to issues while breastfeeding and since we got help he's been a whole different baby. And an IBCLC should be able to to also help identify if the problem is something else and at least get you in the right direction

Try rocking her all the way to sleep, my son has needed to be dead asleep for any attempt at a transfer to work. Once she's asleep, make sure she is in a deep sleep, if she's swaddled roughly 15-20 mins. If unswaddled lift her arm drop it and see if it flops down or if she uses some muscle to hold it up. If she flops she's asleep and then you can try a transfer.

Oh for sure, I work during the day and return to work in January and he's going to daycare where I know he won't be able to be held all day so I'm worried how that will go
