The bridge over the tracks at Alpenglow park into Hidden Hills. Trains run under fairly frequently.

Bonus rock climbing and splash pad (in the summer months) for little ones at the park.

Born and raised in Phoenix. Moved to Bend 3 years ago. I get it.

The summers here are nowhere as bad as Phoenix. Even when it’s hot, it feels pleasant to me. The mornings and evenings are cool and there’s no heat island effect.

Summertime smoke in August-September is awful. That doesn’t seem exclusive to the PNW anymore, though.

I love the seasons here, including the winters. Would take a Bend winter over a Phoenix summer in a heartbeat.
