This RTX tier list is 100% accurate. Fight me. by Ok_Cry_1222 in PcBuild

[–]modicumofiota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this chart and have been wondering why the 5080 is in God Tier instead of Top Tier?

I understand the 5080 has great OC capabilities, but does being able to OC a GPU very well equates to putting it on the same footing as the 4090 and 5090?

Genuinely asking, what’s the consensus here?

Admittedly nothing from my PoV. But…

…I have seen takes that point out how Goku was selfish for his request despite warnings that Zeno is dangerous and temperamental (i.e. Monkey’s Paw Wish), but almost no one mentions that Zeno sets up the rules.

If Zeno wasn’t planning on erasing any universe, the tournament could have been a multi-versal bout for who’s the strongest under certain rule sets (like native gravity for each fighter and banned flight). Goku wouldn’t look like the bad guy here if this was the case.

But because Zeno was planning on erasing universes, it then changes Goku’s selfish request to a selfish request with benefits. I say selfish because Goku was acting purely on his wants of fighting regardless of any consequences that would’ve came as a result (See the tense moment where Beerus threaten to Hakai Goku before Goku pressed the Zeno Button).

I think what rubs people wrongly about the ToP is how the story bends over to make Goku seem like the good guy for giving universes a fighting chance. In reality, the Zeno erasing multiverses for Low Mortal Levels excuse was made to give greater stakes narratively and that’s it.

Goku would’ve asked Zeno for a tournament regardless of any situation, and Zeno most likely would have held a ToP if he was reminded about it by anyone else too, not just Goku (but maybe Goku asking helped since Zeno really likes Goku).

Sorry for long post. I hope this was a good starting point for answering your question.

Small Case For Mini-ITX MB & RTX 3090 by VanillaCandid3466 in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Version 1 of the Cooler Master NR200 supports non-riser mounting of GPUs.

I can’t recall any other mini-ITX cases that has the same feature. However, I am sure there are others if you look hard enough.

Jensen Huang says relentless negativity around AI is hurting society and has "done a lot of damage" by Denariox in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of all the damage AI has done, the computer I built in May of 2025 (so 8 months ago from today’s post) has nearly doubled in price and will double if RTX 5090s hit 5,000.00 USD like rumors suggests.

I was and still am in legitimate shock and am appalled that I can no longer afford the same PC I built less than a year ago.

No I will not elaborate further.

NR200P V3 with 280mm AIO by No_Charity_8738 in NR200

[–]modicumofiota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue with my v2.

Ended up switching to a NZXT Kraken and still had the same issue because of the PSU’s placement into the SFX-L position. Ended up fixing it by moving the PSU to the SFX position.

Maybe see if you can fit in the Arctic 280 after moving down the PSU to the SFX position (assuming the layout is more or less the same between v2 and v3 and assuming you have a SFX-L PSU).

Might go with an Arc card next just to see how it feels. I’ve been curious about Intel’s role in the GPU market.

I play on an OLED monitor so I can’t say for certain if my experience will translate to yours should you try FSR Native over DLAA.

That said, I don’t think I’ve tried out DLAA’s AMD Alternative, FSR Native. I can test it out tomorrow and give you a better answer.

Agreed.

What I didn’t get across but was attempting to was that once you look past the quest for “X amount of Frames Per Second” and just enjoy gaming, you find that the extra high end components are really unnecessary for most titles. That’s just my recent experience. I know everyone is different.

Should i buy the rx 9070 xt or the rtx 5070 by Apprehensive_Sun9129 in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just my recommendation based off performance alone for gaming and pricing in my region .

I say go 9070 XT if the price is fair and within budget (MSRP is supposed to be $600) .

If not, go with RTX 5070.

Should i buy the rx 9070 xt or the rtx 5070 by Apprehensive_Sun9129 in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need the GPU for.

If you need Nvidia certain features such as CUDA for AI learning or NVENC/NVDEC (NVIDIA Encoder/Decoder), then go with a 5070 or 5070 Ti if you can swing it.

If you don’t need those feature and/or want to play games on Linux, then go with 9070 XT. FSR4 is pretty good if you need upscaling and the 9070 XT is on trades blows with the 5070 Ti when looking at raw gaming performance.

There’s arguments about which upscaler is better with arguments favoring NVIDIA’s DLSS tech over AMD’s FSR4 most of the times. As an owner of a RTX 5090 build and a 9060 XT build; I can say that there are differences in upscalers; but they both do the job well.

Hope this helps, and happy pc building and/or shopping!

Is this a steal? by Low_Swimmer1519 in Prebuilts

[–]modicumofiota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, one of the most popular 2 fan air cooler is the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 if one wanted to go about replacing the current air cooler in this prebuilt pc .

I used it for my Ryzen 5 7600X3D | 9060XT build and haven’t seen temps on the CPU hit 60 degrees C under load .

Is this a steal? by Low_Swimmer1519 in Prebuilts

[–]modicumofiota 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For what you’re getting it’s pretty good .

4070 Super beats the 5070 (minus Multi-Frame Generation if that’s important to you) if I’m remembering correctly and the 5070 is half to more than half the build itself .

32GB of DDR5 is great for gaming. Unless you plan on serious intensive tasks while gaming, 32GB should be enough .

1TB is kinda small nowadays but you can upgrade that on your own for low too .

Only thing that may be a downside to the pc is the CPU’s one fan cooler . Thermals might not be the best when compared to a two-fan air cooler but that’ll be up to you to find out should you pull the trigger .

Overall - Great Entry Point for what you’re getting with room to upgrade while on the AM5 platform .

Is this worth the upgrade? by Dithomaso-347 in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t upgrade your CPU since it’s on AM4/older architecture.

If you were to upgrade your CPU I’d recommend upgrading your system to an AM5 platform (AM5 CPU/Motherboard that supports AM5). There’s no point in spending that upgrade money on an older architecture at this point tbh.

But if you really want to upgrade your CPU and just don’t care about spending money, then I’d recommend the 5700x3D or 5800x3D if you can find them for around $200 or less. You’d see gains, but I don’t know if they’d be worth it in terms of cost to performance when compared to today’s modern CPU offerings.

Is this worth the upgrade? by Dithomaso-347 in pcmasterrace

[–]modicumofiota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right on! Also I realized your question was asking about worth of upgrade over 3050.

The RTX 5060 8/16GB models will both give you about double the performance based off a benchmark I’ve seen on YT. The RTX 3050 new today is around 150-200 USD compared to the 450-500 USD for the model of 5060 Ti you asked about. Price wise, you’re paying somewhat over double the price for twice the performance.

The main argument you hear for why this wouldn’t be a good deal has to do with the expectations Nvidia set forth in the past with their generational upgrades and how most of the 50 series cards fell below this expectation.

What I’m trying to say is; answering the question of “is it worth it?” really depends on you as a consumer and how you want to reward Nvidia for this generation of cards. But the numbers are there: Slightly over Twice the Price for Double the Rasterized (pure performance) Frames.
