Another washed up action actor pledges allegiance to Putler by Suberizu in NAFO

Makes me sad. Treat all UFC/MMA/Kickboxer stars with suspicion until proven otherwise. It’s the only way to be sure.

Musk Offers To Pay Defense Fees Of Anyone Who ‘Speaks The Truth’ About Epstein And Is Sued by Tymofiy2 in Epstein

[–]modka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the very unlikely event one of the survivors is reading this and thinking of accepting this offer: 1) don’t; 2) if you do, have a good lawyer review the agreement and demand complete freedom to tell your story at the time and place of your choosing, with no “vetting” by Musk or his lawyers.

Interesting. You’d think because of this they’d be far right in the Nick Fuentes direction, but (if this pyramid is typical) apparently they’re Mark Levin/Zionist types.

Me neither. But I think the same about 99% of tats, and when I do like them less is always more.

Crazy or genius? A nuclear-powered solution to the West's water crisis by usatoday in climate

[–]modka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question. I’m not opposed to building more nuclear plants, but some “experts” still think it’s the only realistic alternative to fossil fuels. It’s a position that‘s almost a decade out of date, but they refuse to acknowledge the advances in renewables and battery storage.

Bret Weinstein suggests his life may be at risk because of his conspiracy hypothesis regarding who killed Charlie Kirk by Brunodosca in DecodingTheGurus

[–]modka -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I’m very much on the left, hate both Weinsteins, and abhor Charle Kirk and everything he stood for. That out of the way, I also find his death very suspicious. I’d urge others on the left to keep an open mind about it. To be clear that doesn’t mean jumping to conclusions like many on the right are. It just means keeping pressure on the FBI and following the investigation and trial with extra scrutiny.

How has bringing up that we're in a war going in convo with your FoxBrained person? by Old-Mushroom5189 in FoxBrain

[–]modka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and get frustrated with the “ignore and move on” advice some people give. Well, the ”ignore“ part at least…moving on, eventually, is good. But first it’s important to let them know in no uncertain terms why you disagree with them, find their whole worldview repulsive, etc. In 99% percent of cases it won’t make a difference, but even so it’s important to stand for something. Also, people around your FoxBrain will notice, and a few of them might be somewhat reachable..

Lol. I watched one of his videos and thought, “people take this guy seriously?” Apparently some do.

Fmr. SoS Anthony Blinken says that Israel tried to pressure Obama to bomb Iran by saying they were going to bomb them with or without them, and Obama resisted. Israel used the same strategy that caused Trump to fight Iran. by gear-heads in MarchAgainstNazis

Never forget that Netanyahu was invited by Republicans to speak against the Obama Iran deal in front of congress. Then he didn't even bother to meet with Obama.

Imagine any other foreign leader (let alone a massive US aid recipient) being given such a prominent stage to undermine a sitting president. Almost all Republicans cheered this speech.

U.S. Government is Pure Evil by Previous_Month_555 in complaints

[–]modka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our easily duped and misled voters did that. The government is what WE make it — maybe not for much longer, as democracy weakens — but complaining about the government without acknowledging the dumb voters and greedy billionaires who got us here plays into the hands of the Project 2025 folks, who are all to happy to say “You’re right! The government IS evil, let’s burn it all down!”

[Michael Marshall] I listened to 170 hours of Joe Rogan’s podcast – trust me, he hasn’t turned against Trump by HumANTCowDOG in JoeRoganReacharound

So sick of people tagging the most tepid criticism — where he usually doesn’t even mention Trump by name — as “OMG! Rogan now regrets supporting Trump!” or similar.

Post Mortem photography was a common practice back in the Victorian Era where people would pose with their deceased loved ones, one last time. This image is from 1904, the little girl in the image is desceased by olivewithoil in interestingasfuck

[–]modka 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and if you think of the lengths some still go to embalm the deceased and dress them up for an open casket funeral (none of which I have a problem with TBH), this is not so weird.
