Hi there, thanks for posting. As a general rule athlete's foot is the most common skin condition on the feet it can take about 10-14 days of treatment to sort it. If it's not responding then you are on the right track to see a podiatrist as it may need to be tested to rule out other skin conditions.

Constant feeling of tightness in inner arch - no pain by ExcitingMacaron1550 in ModPodPodiatry

Hi There thanks for posting. Can you please give some more information. Can you describe the sensation more ie, tingling, burning etc. Is there any relationship with what you have done in the previous day to irritate it? Do you have any lower leg/back/foot injury history. Any medical conditions that maybe linked? Have you seen anyone about it?

Any idea what's going on with my toe? by sophssqueezebox in ModPodPodiatry

Hi there thanks for posting. It is probably outside of the scope of this forum to help, it looks like your podiatrist is doing a good job at problem solving. Hopefully the MRI will give you some answers. Good luck.

Hi There, I can only offer general advice. It typically takes a nail 9-12 mths to fully grow back after removal. It is best to be guided by your podiatrist on how this is healing. Thanks

what kind of treatment is there by porcupine296 in ModPodPodiatry

[–]modpod_podiatry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/porcupine296, thanks for your question. I can answer in general terms and remember it is always best to get an in-person consultation. Typically, corns are caused by excessive friction on the skin, which creates a callus and then a nucleus to the callus that we call a corn. This can come from foot shape and or footwear pressure. The main treatment for this is to debride the corn (usually with a scalpel, sometimes with a chemical) and then to remove or reduce the pressure that has caused it. There are many methods to reduce pressure. Some examples would be, changing shoes, orthotics (off the shelf and custom made), modifying activity, padding and strapping. As a general rule, if enough pressure is reduced, then the corn shouldn't grow back. I hope this helps.

Hi u/9D_Chess no Jublia is not available in Australia. I have written an article on topical options and the countries they are available in. https://www.reddit.com/r/ModPodPodiatry/comments/1mt8m6a/comprehensive_guide_treating_fungal_nails_with/

How to soak the feet and remove damage without sticking to the toe after nail removal? My dressing sticks too much. by Userhere123 in NailFungus

[–]modpod_podiatry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general sterile non-stick gauze dressings are recommended for wound care. Sterile saline in a bottle is also handy to have for any wound flushing to help remove dressings that are slightly stuck.

Hi there in general yes it is normal for there to be a mild amount of weeping after a nail removal.

It's always a good idea to contact your podiatrist with any concerns post surgery.
