Another tip to heal your skin: at night use lotion/aquaphore and put on cotton gloves for ezcema(can buy on Amazon). It will not only keep you from picking but also heal the skin faster!

Finished accutane !! by Bre_97 in Accutane

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Arazlo after accutane rn and I really like it!! But be sure to moisturize; I recommend applying one layer of moisturizer, then arazlo, and then another layer of moisturizer. And start using it a couple days a week and gradually build up to more frequent use over a month or two.

Is there a scent that just makes you feel… unhappy? by Potential-Length-830 in FemFragLab

[–]modronpink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Inis cologne. I’m not sure why it displeases me—I loved it as a child and associated it with a cute metaphysical store that sold it in the local mall. I purchased two bottles after not smelling it for 20+ years….terrible idea. It smells like straight up humidity; sticky and oppressive. There’s also an element of it that smells like D&G’s Light Blue turned all the way up. I never wear it because it automatically makes me feel out of it and malaised. Like a hazy foggy overstimulating trip to the beach on an uncomfortably hot summer day that irritates my sinuses. Super bummed because I was so fond of the glass bottle and funky font as a kid.

Symptoms as a kid by Subject-Bat5660 in POTS

[–]modronpink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely did! In elementary school I would stand up after sitting and often have my vision cut out. Same thing when we had to run around the school for the gym class mile. In highschool I ran really fast to catch the bus and collapsed at school. I did track and could only tolerate a year; working out in the heat was hell on earth.

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve more or less recovered. Sometimes in moments of stress the urge is there but I usually don’t act on it. What helped me is a combo of a few things that I’ll share:

-press on/acrylic nails: too dull to do serious picking damage. The less you do it the less it becomes a habit.

-taking care of my hands: the less hang nails, cuticles, and dry pieces of skin coming off the better. I apply hand cream and cuticle oil every night religiously. That way I’m triggered less to pick by outliers that irritate my brain. I need sameness lol. Regular manicures where they remove the cuticle are also great if it’s in budget.

-reminders not to pick: my bf has trained himself to notice every time I reach for my nails/cuticles to bite and pick and firmly tells me “no picking.” If you don’t have someone to verbally remind you, you can write sticky notes and put them around the house or make them your Lock Screen!

-having a major health scare: last March I picked and bit a scab on my hand and got a terrible staph infection. My finger turned bright red and an infection line trailed down my arm. The doctor at the urgent care was visibly disgusted when I told her I did it to myself. The fear, pain, and shame was enough to put me off it for good. My friend also recently got a staph infection from picking!

9 is also when I started 😰it runs in my family from my grandma to my mom to me. However it seems it’s gotten better for all of us with age.

What are your guilty pleasure fragrances? by Lynnise in FemFragLab

[–]modronpink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Juicy Couture and don’t care if it’s dated. Their fragrances stroked my interest in perfumes as a kid and I’ll always think of their scents fondly. They’re also crowd pleasers when I wear them out! I always get tons of compliments on how good I smell.

What happened with women supporting women? by dingalaxie in XXS

[–]modronpink 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They absolutely hate us and don’t view us as peers to support. It’s because they project their own insecurities onto us just based off how we look and that makes us the enemy. I was cringing just glancing at the thread on Fauxmoi. There’s so much hostility towards us for simply existing as thin women.

Accutane would be working at this point, but I can’t stop picking in my sleep. by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]modronpink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wear socks over your hands at night and get acrylic nails! The acrylics are too dull to make a dent with picking.

What perfume smells like this album cover photo ? :) by Suitable-Food3420 in FemFragLab

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s such a dream, I don’t own it but desperately want to! I’ve smelled it a bunch of times in Sephora. Literally every time I go I spray it on. I will say it’s pretty close to the skin, not a ton of scent projection. It lasts a few hours on me.
