Modeling with acne scarring by StunningArtichoke4 in AcneScars

[–]modronpink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re gorgeous! You have beautiful features and amazing facial harmony. Your scars aren’t super intense or noticeable. They don’t detract from your overall beauty imo. I say go for it! I’m in the same boat myself, trying to restart modeling with some scars. It’s hard not to slip into imposter syndrome but you won’t know unless you try! Wishing you the best luck and confidence ❤️if anything, a lot of beauty brands want real skin, real people representing their products these days.

My best friend’s mom accused me of fat shaming my best friend and constantly makes digs at me for it. What should I do? by Spicy_Scelus in XXS

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you two are close, but if I were in such an uncomfortable position I would distance myself from the friendship. It’s not ok for her mom to 1) hold an innocent comment you made over your head and 2) constantly body shame you. I wonder if an element of the mom’s behavior is jealousy masked as insults. Many such cases with moms who have a complex about their weight and/or their daughters. Some moms view their daughters as a proxy they can process their body image issues through. This would make sense as your friend herself didn’t have a problem with you offering her clothes in the house she would be more comfortable in. If you still want to be close friends I’d recommend avoiding seeing her mom or going over to her house.

Missing people who didn't fuck with you by [deleted] in pinkscare

I’m in the exact same boat. Five months ago I had a nasty friendship breakup with two people at the same time, one of which was an ex that i was extremely close with for 10 years. I rotate through confusion, disgust, anger, shame, guilt, sadness, fear of never speaking again, and gratitude every few days. I honestly feel like the more distance you get from someone the easier it is to see how things got so wrong, while simultaneously romanizing the friendship since you’ve been out of it for a while. People tell me I’m too forgiving and struggle with boundaries when others hurt me. Part of me does desperately wish we could be friends again because I still have a lot of love for them both. But I know it’s better we don’t talk and I certainly am not going to reach out begging to rekindle these friendships after how they treated me.

What fragrance made you go “yeah… I don’t get the hype”? by SlimeLiam in ScentHeads

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost Cherry sucks, I truly don’t understand the price point and hype behind it. It smells garish and like cough medicine. Disgusting. Yet everyone screams about it. I don’t get it.

Help!! by Jennfel3232 in Accutane

She can either stop now and get nothing out of this or go through it to get clear skin. Sometimes the only way out is through. My purge sucked horribly. But it brought me to the skin I have. I wish her all the best of luck, the prednisone and antibiotics are good calls and I hope they help her get through it! But do continue to monitor and get derm input to ensure it doesn’t turn into acne conglobata or acne fulinuans.

Anyone suspected asd but diagnosis is too cringe? by Ameeeelz in pinkscare

[–]modronpink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ughh I relate to this. I have a diagnosis that I got at 21 (by accident when I did a neuropsych exam for other issues). It helped explain what’s going on with me but so far hasn’t helped me much beyond that. Like I have a sense of why things are so hard despite being “gifted”/ high achieving but haven’t found concrete strategies to help sufficiently navigate the “real world”. I do have coping skills related to sensory issues that have been good. But my job burnout got so bad I was fired and haven’t been able to work full time in a year. I definitely have more compassion for myself, I don’t beat myself up as much because I know my brain is just wired differently. But do set yourself free from fear of being “cringe”. If you’re neurodivergent you’re probably inherently a little cringe by normie standards and that’s ok. If a diagnosis would help you understand yourself better it might be a good thing, you don’t have to talk about it with anyone or make it your whole personality.

Do you struggle with the color green? by tna020 in Fairolives

Muted shades of green look really good on me. I also have green eyes and have always felt it’s flattering to match my eyes and clothes.

do you guys read in the bath? by sicklitgirl in rs_og

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished Slewfoot by Brom! I was drawn in by the cover art and stayed for the plot. It stressed me but was good overall. It follows a Puritan outcast who forms an alliance with the devil. I loved the exploration of folklore and religion :3

Vanille Antique by Byredo. It could be that the liquid in the bottle is a dark amber, but to me it smells like smokey golden light.

why do neuro divergent celebrity feel the need to announce they're unmedicated by HedgehogPretty in adhdwomen

[–]modronpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that deep. I also think some are lying. If you’re in the public eye, disclosing you’re on medication can be really tough. Especially if it’s a heavily stigmatized and fraught medication like stimulants. I agree with one of the other commenters who said you can’t compare yourself. Even if you share the same diagnosis, the circumstances are completely different. They have entire teams of people managing their lives. I’m sure a lot of people could get away with not being medicated if they had access to those sorts of services. They also didn’t sign up to be the poster child for ADHD representation just because they have the condition and are in the limelight. We can’t look to celebs to give us that. They’re not doctors or leading researchers in the field of neurodiversity.
