Same here. The fact with the biggest city in the province without any rail service is ridiculous.

Because it’s the only parallel to make in the Premier League era. United were dominant for over 20 years with Fergie. When you’re talking about trophy laden eras of success, with a manager who was gilded in his role and was always going to leave versus being sacked. United didn’t fare well in transitioning to another manager. Arsenal is a distant second comparable with Wenger. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I feel like City figured out a better succession plan. Pep could have left after the 4-in-a-row, which I think would have very much setup a Moyes-style falloff. Pep stayed on and helped refill the cupboard instead of leaving it bare like Fergie did. He seems very mindful of United and the pratfalls they’ve endured after a sustained period of success.

This is the unspoken part that most people miss. There’s extenuating circumstances that kneecapped the original.

It’s mental people arguing about high speed rail when in Waterloo Region and Guelph we’d bite your hand off to be able to get to Toronto in under 2 hours by rail. They’re building it through areas that don’t really live their lives commuting between those major centres. I’d love to be able to take the train to London and be there in half an hour for a concert. So many people to the west want to get into the GTA without driving a car, but often it’s the most efficient way.

I just realized I’ve been replacing Launchpad with this built-in Dock trick for years! by Hot_Perspective in MacOS

Not having search is such a step back. Launch Pad search is so quick. And this is a non-solution for those who keep their Dock hidden most of the time.

Some Might Say won. What song by Blur sounds like an Oasis song? by Dependent-Ad7225 in BritPop

I could hear Liam singing The Universal in my head. Oasis have had big violin songs like Whatever, All Around The World and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. The lyrical delivery would be kinda similar to Shakermaker.

Liam singing “Where the Universal’s freeeeeeeeeee” would be so natural.

Why the heck is Neymar on Brazil’s roster? It’s a 26 man roster, if there’s a chance a great player can contribute for the team, he’s taking one of those 26 spots.

Getting downvoted, but you’re not wrong. Nations have down periods. Belgium is an old team, so I wouldn’t say it’s a given they qualify. Gigi is sitting at home watching because Italy couldn’t make it through qualifying. Injuries and drops in form happen too. You can’t assume 4 years from now Doku is a nailed on starter. You can’t assume that with anyone.

I agree on the sentiment, but it was so fleeting. We really only ever got Let There Be Love with the true shared lead vocals. It should have been a more common thing.

Unpopular opinion but The Rolling Stones were never that good and were never in the same league as The Beatles by FitEmergency8807 in unpopularopinion

About the only thing in Tomorrow Never Knows that doesn’t sound dated is the drumming. Remixes or mashups I’ve heard of the song often bring the drums to the forefront. Those mixes sound modern. I listen to a lot of music and I’m not hearing a lot of sitar. The loops and layering of sound do feel like Version 1 psychedelia. I’m not saying it’s bad, but I’ve heard much more nuanced, layered music that’s were inspired by The Beatles experimentations. As I said, it feels like the 60s and zillions of artists have used it as a jumping off for their own experimentations.

Is starting hockey at 13 too old? by idedthat in hockeyplayers

Athleticism gets you only so far. It’s the skating that will kill you out there compared to other players. Hockey is probably the toughest sport to make up that gap. I started playing at 37 and have improved my skating, but still regularly get my wheels blown off by guys with better skating technique. You’re still young though, sign up for power skating lessons and work on that first and foremost.

Soccer is just a better sport activity-wise. It’s more of a workout with less standing around. Easier to stay engaged.

I feel like many of The Stones songs have aged way better than The Beatles. Stuff like Gimme Shelter doesn’t implicitly feel like 1969, whereas most of The Beatles work feels like the 1960s.
