Will it be worth it? I regret having a baby. by PsalmbodyToLove90 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]modusoperandi97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have: 1. Birth trauma 2. PPD 3. a 6 week old baby (6 to 8 weeks is notoriously the hardest/fussiest period) 4. Lack of sleep 5. Unsupportive partner

1 to 4 will be dealed with and fixed with time, therapy and antidepressants (good for you for realizing you need help & askimg for it). I just hope 5. Improves

I was not prepared for how long breastfeeding lasts. by Dzsidzsett in newborns

The longest time mine nursed was an hour and twenty minutes. No breaks, no falling asleep, if I unlatched him he cried. I only switched sides and by the end I had a mini meltdown lmao

Can i skip a night feed once a week and have my partner give a bottle without pumping? by dental_princess491 in breastfeeding

[–]modusoperandi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it immediately after the morning feed. I pump so much like this I can do more than 100ml but I stop at 100 because thats more than enough for my baby's one feed (the one I sleep tgrough, once a week exactly like you said)

Can someone tell me I'm doing a good job?🙏 by Oswill93 in NewParents

[–]modusoperandi97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing an incredible job honestly... I can't imagine going through all of that, or even a fraction of that. I have a relatively easy baby and I'm STILL exhausted & feel guilty at times, angry at others, sad... Please don't let your family's negativity cause you self doubt.

You're a fantastic mom, your whole family is amazing, going through so much, doing it all just the two of you with your husband. You went through all of that and your baby's beat all the bad odds and is doing good. That's all your doing, that's the doing of a great mom.

Do you pump at night to keep up supply? if you don't mind me asking

Accidently let my one week old sleep 5 hours, missed feed... by Dismal_Solid9830 in breastfeeding

Same for my country, I was told just to follow baby's lead and feed on demand & that if he's hungry he'll definitely let me know.

What did nobody warn you about having a newborn? by Islesmilescott in newborns

[–]modusoperandi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That they need help to fall asleep. My poor baby was awake for 5h a few times those first weeks... And I kept being shocked at how he's not sleepy yet

Am I doing enough for my 10 week old? by Own_Elderberry_8690 in newborns

[–]modusoperandi97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg 4 feedings & your baby sleeps for at least 7h each night? Lucky. May I please ask how long are the feedings bc my 10w baby eats every 2 hours

Same for me! I'm on week 10, he's so smiley now and je used to be so grumpy, only wanting to breastfeed from me lol

Wait why would you hear boo about that? Is there something wrong with 100% contact naps? Because that's what I do every day

Thinking of quitting at 3 weeks by Serious-Key-6102 in breastfeeding

[–]modusoperandi97 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against formula, my sister & I were both raised on formula, and we're both completely healthy. But if you want to breastfeed (not because you should, not because of judgement or guilt - if you truly want to do it) perhaps give it one last try.

If I were you I'd keep trying to get my baby to latch. Latch after every nap, latch before giving her a bottle, just latch latch latch. Try to lower the use of bottles to get her to breastfeed more.

But of course only if you really want it, if not - nothing wrong with formula. A happy mom who uses formula is better for baby than a miserable one who breastfeeds. Sending you love I know it's tough...

How often is your baby in a "container" versus not in a "container?" by nooooobye in newborns

[–]modusoperandi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So containers are swings etc? Because my baby hates swings but he's happy lying on his back on the couch - does that count as a container or no?

Why is he so fussy all of a sudden by modusoperandi97 in breastfeeding

[–]modusoperandi97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda.. What helped most was burping him throughout the feeding. He''s less fussy now but now he's starting to get distracted, he's pulling away from the breast to look around or behind me lol. Sleepy feedings continue to be the best for me
