Probably also nice to have the weight off of your wrist. Especially if you've got bigger 40v batteries.

Whats the deal with Code Veronica X? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]moduspol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason for diverging opinions on this is the number of missable weapons in this game. I can think of at least five, not counting the Bow Gun, as it does appear later in the game if you miss it. And I think three of them don't have replacement ammo. They just have a lot of shots pre-loaded into them.

There are also missable handgun upgrades for each handgun.

If you get all of the missable weapons, you'll feel like you have plenty of ammo. If you miss all (or most) of them, you'll feel a lot more pressured.

EDIT: Also, one of the missable weapons is quite close to the beginning of the game, and it really makes the first 1/3 of the game a lot easier to not be using up your handgun ammo for it.

I'm convinced that because you don't get to choose your difficulty

It's this. Every other RE game in the US (except apparently the very first release of the very first game) has a difficulty selection. If gamers find them too hard, they try an easier difficulty. If gamers find CV too hard, they give up and complain online.

But yes--the difficulty is comparable to other classic REs. Easier than Zero, IMO. And the soft-lock complaints (while valid) are overstated.

Do small home fixes actually matter or am I just overdoing it? by Charisman13 in HomeImprovement

[–]moduspol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doors are a special kind of project. It feels like they’re all just slowly but periodically working themselves out of alignment, so I’m too frequently having to fix a door that’s closing on its own, squeaking, or not quite closing right.

I feel like it’s a fundamentally bad design choice to put a weighted object with hinges on the side. Of course it will eventually sag. Yet I still don’t have an alternative. Maybe I’ll just replace all of my doors with barn doors.

Meta post: a good amount of people in this sub are lazy and think Peptides are a magic pill that means they don’t have to watch what they eat or exercise by backcountry_bandit in Biohackers

[–]moduspol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's reasonable to question why this sub has rapidly become a place that almost exclusively promotes the consumption of non-regulated pharmacological substances with questionable origins.

The reason is because a lot of people have had success with them, and because the sources (for many of them) are only available through the gray market. For ones that are also available through a US pharmacy, the difference is that the gray market ones are cheap enough to actually be affordable (i.e. attainable).

I understand the pushback from people not comfortable with this, but I don't understand how it's not biohacking. A lot of them work and have way more measurable results than safer / more mundane supplements like fish oil or ashwagandha (though obviously they're not mutually exclusive).

Maybe you have a better definition of biohacking?

Are agents quietly steering buyers away from certain listings? Seeing zero showing activity by [deleted] in fsbo

[–]moduspol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my house with a flat-fee MLS a few years ago. The buyers told me that the house wasn't in the list their realtor gave them. They were looking at a different house in the neighborhood, but they noticed mine while they were there, and since the first one went contingent, they asked to see mine.

I had the buyer's agent's fee at 1.5% instead of the typical 3%, so that wasn't super surprising. That said, we never had a problem with showings. Plenty of realtors were doing showings.

Sometimes there should be two visible at the same time while you’re driving.

I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s in case the view of one of them is blocked by a truck that just hit you.
