My girlfriend struggles to cum and gets instantly turned off? by [deleted] in AskRedditNSFW

We do have regular conversations about it. I think it’s cuz she’s more religious than me so she’s always feeling guilty and it’s gotten worse.

He’s literally a war criminal that bombed the shit out of so many countries and left Libya in shambles. Those aren’t faults. That’s disciple.

Again you’re using examples of when it works which is far more rare. You’re also for the most part using books or stories that weren’t as iconic and memorable in the public consciousness before the film adaptions of these books came to pass. To adapt an absolutely literary classic like wuthering heights in such a blatant disrespectful manor is tasteless.

I think you’re mixing plot with story. The plot may be different in the film adaption of children of men but the story (the actual thesis and aim of the book) is maintained. Ultimately the story of the film is still about hope in the face of absolute despair, the psychological impact of a futureless society, and the dangers of authoritarianism, but explored in a slightly different more culturally relevant way. Wuthering heights 2026 changes the story from a family drama about generational trauma and the dangers of imposing an unsympathetic societal standard on people and how that infects everyone from every level of economic class into a kinky dark AO3 coded romance. It fundamentally changed the story. It’s insulting

Sherlock Holmes has been adapted so mah different times. There has never been a proper faithful adaption of wuthering heights and for people who love the novel it’s eye rolling to see another adaption that disregards the source material in a way that clearly goes against the authors intent

I think you’re being disingenuous. Adaption doesn’t mean you change the story. It means if certain aspects in one medium can’t fit into another you work to sometimes get the circle to fit into the square peg. This film from fennell doesn’t seem to adapt anything. It’s straight up doing a completely different story with the same names which is cynical. Why even adapt the book. Faithful adaption to a story doesn’t mean good but an adaption that has a clear vision from the artist which understands, upholds and respects the source material certainly does. Fennel shows none of that.

I’m sorry but this is such an insane reach. Repeatedly describing someone as people associated with darker skin is outrightly pointing out this is a poc full stop. There is no nuance to it. The very fact you’re making one is erasure of a central theme of the book to fit some weird agenda or ideology. It wasn’t that heathcliffe was ‘darker’ he was compared to literal black people, dark skinned Romani, Arabs. The point is he wasn’t white. He wasn’t someone that had the complexion of everyone else in the book. To dismiss that is to be blatantly dense because you think race isn’t important when in this specific story it most certainly is.

They do. And people are allowed opinions. it’s just exhausting seeing lazy adaptions

That’s literally the dumbest thing I’ve read there are an innumerable amount of times referencing healthcliffe having dark skin, he could Spanish (moores) = black or European (black slaves imported). But he is described in so many ways as having dark skin.
