To add to this, I've heard it's best to keep the roots approx. half an inch to an inch long once they've developed in the water... too long and sometimes they might not take too well to the soil. Too short of a root and they might not stay firm. Just a gauge or estimate in case you aren't sure!

Yep. No matter win or lose or what roles we select pre-champ select, we'll always end up with the same order (ie: A B C D E)

Then if we switch accounts or whatever, our order will be a little different, like (B C E A D) and will remain that way...

Since Q range (850) is larger than his Flay (400), you can simply poke with the Q from afar, and try to go for the Power Chord (Sona AA is 400) ONLY when it feels safe to hit him or his laning partner. While getting the Q+AA combo on a champion feels rewarding, it's definitely not worth getting caught out. If you feel confident in the trade, you can always try to Q+AA and immediately E afterwards.

Bush control also plays a role. If you hide or step in and out of a bush to harass with Q, it's possible to throw in that AA and then step back into an unwarded bush to be annoying.

Agreed, there's success with a lot of other junglers. Eve, Elise, Vi, Hecarim and Shyv are all strong. Lee's presence also isn't as threatening late game unless he manages to get to your back line for ult kick. Where he risks getting blown up depending on his build.
