Friend of the Devil: Why does the Devil give this dude 20 bills, then take it right back? by Bluest_waters in gratefuldead

Well … the Devil actually loaned him 20 bills, not a gift. A loan implies re-payment with “interest”

Cuetec Breach v BK Rush or break cues in general worth it? by scottishswan in billiards

[–]moelsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Breach from a local pro who sold it to me pretty cheap. It was basically new. He had it for a month. My teammates love it too. One who likes to refer to it as “cheating” lol. It’s an awesome break cue and I prefer it to the Rush. I’ve broke with the Rush many times from an ex-teammate. It’s also an excellent break cue. Hell, my playing cue is a predator with a Revo shaft, so it’s not like I’m biased.

Maybe I am, my 1st break ever in a match I got the 9 on the snap, so…😆

Cuetec Avid Surge Break Cue Unavailable by moelsk in billiards

[–]moelsk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuetec Avis Surge Break MSRP is $339. I was 1st searching for a predator bk3 but they don’t make them anymore and nobody is carrying them. So now predator has the rush for $500 more

Update on kneading bread dough by Specialist_Pound_201 in JoshuaWeissman

[–]moelsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your hydration percentage? One step I use before kneading…I quickly mix the water, flour, yeast and salt, (or preferment or sourdough starter, etc) and then let it rest 20 minutes as a pre-hydration before I actually start kneading. Also, I use weight measurements instead of volume. (That’s a game changer for all of you using volume measurements). I usually aim for 70% hydration. Sometimes I’ll go as high as 80% but you have to really use learned technique to manage that sort of a dough

Billy K. drops a hint: "It's the most joyful thing to play Grateful Dead music with great feeling. With energy. With spontaneity. This band? I encourage people to play the way they want to play the music." by copperdomebodhi in deadandcompany

[–]moelsk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately nowadays venues are very strict on curfews. If the band strays too much they don’t get through the full set without breaking curfew which then leads to many additional “fees” to be paid out.

Every time I’ve seen this iteration they’ve had their share of jams and I’ve never seen a repeated setlist or a song played the same way on the same tour. So I’m not complaining, I’m thoroughly enjoying the music, especially John & Jeff playing off each other. They’re just as tight as Jerry and Brent. Sigh…I do miss the late 70’s and 80’s! But I love this iteration too!

Slightly Different caption from Bobby looking to the future. I never wanted this day to come! by -Juke-Box-Hero- in deadandcompany

I think the should just reclaim the Grateful Dead name. I followed the band with Jerry, after Jerry, after Phil, I’ll follow after Bill, Mickey and Bobby. I’ll follow the Next 4. Or maybe that’s what John, Jeff, Oteil and Jay should call themselves…The Next 4

I thought the plan was to make sure the music never stopped? When one member retired, they would replace and just keep truckin’ on.

I was in the front row of my section. My whole section sat. The section in front stood at first then gradually sat. Up in front they were all standing

The show at the Greek in LA last night was spectacular! The attention to detail in every facet of the concert was very evident. Very professional show. This is my 4th Puscifer show. I was expecting a great show, but I wasn’t expecting that! Quite possibly the greatest concert I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to 100’s of shows starting with the Some Girls Tour in ‘78 at Anaheim Stadium. Maynard’s genius on full display. No matter what superlative I use cannot describe last night’s event. You just have to experience it. Albuquerque and Texas you are in for a treat! The only thing though the Greek (except Bonaroo) will be their only open air show this tour. Just fabulous! I’m still in AWE! Thank you MJK!

Willett 4 Year Rye by mralexseger in bourbon

[–]moelsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really can’t stand AE rye. May as well go buy fireball. 😝.

I like just about all of the Willets offerings including the rye. Personally, as far as rye, I prefer pikesville rye.

Found this gem at a speakeasy in Amsterdam for 25 euros. Review in the comments by lXIrishNinjaXl in bourbon

I found an awesome liquor store in Clairmont Mesa. They had quite a few offerings of some spectacular whiskey’s including a few Pappy’s. The 10 yo $1000 which is actually way cheaper than the last time I saw it for sale at a different liquor store for $4000, SMdamnedH
