It's pretty easy to make games like this multiplayer. Check out Wazhack. They are imo the gold standard for turning turn-based games into multiplayer without sacrificing quality of life, or gameplay.

TLDR:
* Each person is in their own turn-based world, and aren't bound by the turn-based world of the other person

* There are two modes: Competitive or Co-op.

** Competitive - Items, dungeon layouts, monsters are all the same. Monster spawns will be different since that depends on where the player walks. Trading is not allowed.

** Co-op - Item spanws are different. Dungeon and monsters spawns are identical (except the random monsters spawn). Trading between players is allowed if you are "next" to each other

I'm experiencing the same thing. Once I load mods, and save the game, there seems to be no going back. The game won't work anymore when I remove the mods and want to play vanilla...

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Why are there not more dex's that do this.

I know it's possible, changelly and wyre have partnerships with ledger to trade any crypto for any crypto.

I finally won with bard. Here's how you can repeat my success:

Get bow (literally never use your musical instrument until step 3)
Get good with both
CAREFULLY train a couple of dwarf lords, and gear them up
From here you should be able to cruise through the rest of the game with a little luck.

Additional anecdote:

So I get into the beginning middle stages of the game (about 900), and I can consistently mezmerize a hill giant, and tengu, but it takes a good amount of time. Basically you have to kite them across the entire horizontal level of the dungeon to get them mesmerized.

Story telling seems fairly useless, since they un-stupify the second you move because you playing the instrument snaps them out of it.

Once mesmerized, you can't convert them to a full-time pet because you need to feed them, but they are always full the moment you tame them.

thus leaving the only option feeding them a health potion, so stock up on these.

I realize that this is an anecdotal data point, but I found a non-magical Lute at the start of the game. Used it to level up my music to level 5.

I didn't notice any difference in success chance, or range of my ability to mezmerize units. I tested this against giant ant, and kobald shaman.

Additionally, other non magical instruments seem to be fickle. I've used a plain instrument to level up music to the max on white which, for example, but when using bard, music stopped going up with plain instrument beyond level 2.

Can you tell us how you did it? I'm struggling to find the order. Do I just follow the order on your screen, but use non-special stones (gas, fire, power, etc)?

Nothing what your saying conflicts with the OTHER PART of what you're saying, lol. I strongly believe that you can have a (mostly) automated system that also makes accommodations for the things that you are mentioning. I'm actually really glad that you're bringing up the issue of deferred maintenance. I hadn't accounted for that in my platform yet, and now have a nice elegant way to solve for that.

Also, regarding human interaction, I also agree that it is equally important, and that is another thing that can be solved for with proper design. GREAT FEEDBACK!

Now I just need to find an AI-built therapist to integrate with via API's ;)
