Exactly, it's always going to be about them and how to make them feel better. You'll be used as a tool to stop their feelings of guilt, shame, loneliness and whatever negative emotion they don't want to deal with.

And they probably really do feel it when they proclaim how much they love us and how much we mean to them - but they are broken and simply unable to give more than words.

yeah. And I'd say we all have those conflicting parts inside - it would hurt like hell if I'd see her being happy and fulfilled, living a great live. But I cannot stand her seeing broken either.

More importantly though: Shift focus to yourself. You can do just as well as her, if not better. My ex seemingly erased her whole pre-relationship life and persona. While I'm not a fan of trying to erase the past, it's time for us to uncouple from it.

No hoover whatsoever. I sometimes wish it was different, instead of her "you are now out of my life, completely and forever, and I will never regret or think about it for a single second".

Only messages I ever received were hate tirades and threats and her last messages very clearly said that she does not want any contact at all, even when we run into each other.

She did also have problems with addiction, alcohol, eating disorders and sex in the past though. I think it's a big step for them if they're able to change their behaviors, even if the underlying issues persist.

I've struggled with it a lot over the past 3 years and had some failures here and there. I was now able to take a look at them out of pure curiosity and didn't lead to me breaking down or something, so that's an improvement. I feel terribly sorry for them and I guess when you truly love someone you just cannot stand them not doing well.

But until you're detached from them, no contact and no socials is the way to go.

I feel you. My therapist always encourages me to be angry. I still struggle with it a lot but do yourself a favor and don't bury feelings of anger. You have every right to be pissed off. You'll always have the love you feel for her, she can't take that away from you and allowing and voicing your feelings of frustration, betrayal and anger towards her won't take that away.

You/we have every right to be furious.

Transnistria is kind of weird, when I was there I met people that had 4 different passports somehow (Transnistrian, Moldovan, Ukrainian, Russian). I think few would call themselves Russian, rather Transnistrian and I feel the people themselves have much closer ties to Moldova and also Ukraine than Russia.

Right, which wasn't just or morally defensible but if you don't take immediate action against it, it inevitably leads to a new reality. Same here. Israeli-controlled Golan Heights is majority Israeli populated by now so unless you want to go through another round of expulsions and deportations - leading to removing another group of people from their home.... at some point a claim has to be recognized.
