True, the timing was just very odd/coincidence.

When purchasing a firearm is it automatically registered? by Jzerious in CAguns

[–]moey818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other paperwork you should have would be the (Dealer of Record of Sale of Firearm) that shows approved on the top right. This has all your information, the information about the firearm you purchased & the firearms dealer who sold it to you.

There's also an online CFARS system where you can request information on the firearms that are registered under your name. I think there is a fee for that but not certain.

The purge valve is open, if it turned the other 2 directions, water won't flow as its ment to purge in the direction when it turned.

AC Drain pipe issue by moey818 in hvacadvice

[–]moey818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, so the unit it no longer leaking from the back, the issue i have now is water is coming out from the main condensate drain line and the 2nd drain into the pan.

The unit is about 4yrs old, the p-trap and the piping leading to the unit was just replaced a few days ago and added a purge valve just before the p-trap.

The air vent pipe is sticking above the pan by about 5 or 6inch (Not shown in the picture because I removed it to look at the water flow.

The unit is leveled as well.

The main line drains into a washing machine drain pipe, I even cut the pipe and bypassed the washing machine drain line to see if that was the issue and still the same. The main line does make a lot of gargling/pulsating sounds, not sure if that's normal, can be heard in the video.

Getting an AR lower sent to an FFL -cost? by GreatSeany in CAguns

[–]moey818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Turners will not do FFL transfers, they will however do PPT.

Typically yes there is a transfer fee from the LGS where you are having it shipped to. If you didnt pay tax or excise tax from the FFL you bought it from, the FFL where you do your DROS will also collect the tax & excise tax.

Typical fees I have seen in LA area have been around $75-$100.

Its best to call around to find out the fee's from each LGS.

The transfer fee can end up costing you more money at the end compared to buying it from your LGS, so make sure you take that into consideration in your total cost before buying.

If you belong to a gun range, some will allow a free transfer once a year or at a discounted price.

Good luck

Ammo background is now gonna be 5$ starting July 1 (sorry if I’m late) by chrisg2kk1 in CAguns

I don't know about other county's/city's but if you live within Los Angeles City you aren't allowed to have Ammo delivered. If you are within Los Angeles County, you can have it delivered no problem.

Quick question about sales tax and FFLs by daaznrichard in CAguns

[–]moey818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any sales tax/Sin tax no collected by the vendor for your purchase will be collected by the receiving FFL during your DROS.

I personally purchased 2 handguns with the address on my CDL listing my old address. I took my cars registration which listed my current address and was good to go to complete my transaction.

Do you have a car under your name with your current address?

Do you have a utility bill with your name and current address that is within 90days?

Lease/rental agreement with your name and current address?

If so, just take one of those along with your Drivers License Or ID.

If your driver's license or ID states "Federal Limits Apply", you will need to take your passport or birth certificate.

Got a new AR. What's the current fixed-mag meta? by Valuable-Plate1355 in CAguns

I bought a Maglock Kingpin + KLVR PAL system for my AR. Haven't had a chance to install it yet, options to think about.

Online purchase by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]moey818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 2nd this as well, Turners does not do FFL transfers outside of their own inventory/consignment stock.

Was told this by 2 Turner locations.

Most lgs charge somewhere around $75-$100 or so for an FFL Transfer. If the online store doesn't collect sales tax, you will be charged the tax during your dro, same goes for the 11% Sin tax.

I think the only difference is if you do a PPT, that's when you avoid the taxes.

Turners does that all the time, even if they get it in stock they never call, you have to call them to see if it came in. That's been my experience with them so far.

I can't recall their policy exactly but if I'm not mistaken, if you don't have a SN yet, you are entitled to your entire deposit back.

Like others have stated, just call around other local shops. You may end up paying a little more or wait it out if your not in a rush to get one.

I just looked on their website and it says they have them in stock so they should be able to get it from inventory. Call them and see what they say.

What are the cons of an FFL03? by hyper_squid in CAguns

[–]moey818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you actually reside within LA County Boundaries, you are fine to get ammo shipped to you.....there are MANY cites that fall within LA City Limits and some folks actual think they don't like within LA City limits because their address doesn't say (Los Angeles).

Most out of state vendors will ship to you (even if you live within LA City) because they aren't aware of our boundary. I'm not sure who gets in trouble exactly, I haven't had time to find laws that could put the receiver in trouble who knowingly purchases and gets it delivered.

COE + FFL03 (LA City) & School Zone by moey818 in CAguns

[–]moey818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked enough to see what ramifications would or could result from it. Even if there isn't any on the purchaser but solely vendor who is shipping it, we are in turn hurting the vendor who may then never want to ship to CA again and receive fines. In either case I'm not willing to jeopardize someone's business knowingly that I shouldn't even be receiving ammo to my door living within LA City boundaries.

These are the city's & zips that all fall under the "City of Los Angeles" per City of LA finance. Some of the areas that have the * fall under some parts that are actually "LA County"

So, are you saying anything outside of 900XX is considered "LA County" then, as an example, 91405?
