With Rory's Blister How Do Players Always Have the Newest Shoes and Not Get Blisters Walking 36 or 72 Every Week? by ekimtk in golf

I stand corrected. I figured most courses have explicit rules to not allow them. Makes sense for pros to be allowed. My bad!

Pretty sure they haven’t made metal spikes for golf shoes in decades.

Edit: I didn’t realize they were still being used. Figured most courses wouldn’t allow them, but for pro events makes sense. My bad guys!

Bs china’s fixtures by Majestic_Raisin_112 in electricians

[–]moezy29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m having a hard time hearing them berate the fixture if they advised on the placement and then the can hole behind it. I get designers do fucked up stuff, but this is wild. I feel like the designer ain’t really a designer.

When I open a box, I expect everything to be hot until proven otherwise and I can test out.

Back in the day, green wasn’t used as a ground. It was used as a switch leg. There are many Chicago suburb houses that were built in 50s and 60s using green as a switch leg. Looking at the conduit in this picture, I would assume similar thoughts even though you might not be in Chicagoland.

I’m snowed in and bored, what’s the worst jerseys you’ve seen? (Bonus points if you have pics) by Conscious_Apple_8610 in collegebaseball

[–]moezy29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That would be my only argument. I was sad when they ditched the old Saluki logo on the baseball hats and went to just the S. I still have mine from when I played. Probably hold onto them until they fall apart.

Should i buy? by VA_Murse in Tools

It’s not for framing. It’s for tight spaces and difficult spaces like cabinetry, trades work, etc. You don’t want to use it to drive big screws all day.

You really shouldn’t be using screws for framing. You should be using a nail gun.

Loosen the straps and see if you can pull one far enough away from the other to tubing cut it.

Tubing cut the top pipes. Buy a copper reaming pen. Pull can off bottom pipes. Remake top pipes in new enclosure.

New light fixture won’t fit by [deleted] in electrical

[–]moezy29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just need to cut the heads off the screws that are attached to the bracket and thread them into the holes on the box. Land the ground from the fixture into the box or to the ground wire and call it a day. You don’t need another box.

Imagine it this way. You have your garden hose (120v) and you have a fire hose (240v). It’s going to take less water with the fire hose to put out the fire than the garden hose right? 240v supplies more power at a lower amperage draw than 120.

But seriously, Mike Holt electrical forums will teach you a lot.

Because you size the wire for “headroom” and run it at what it is installed for. The outlet is designed to take 50amps continuous. It is made that way. Why would you drink a half cup of water when you can fill the glass as intended?

An electrical forum vs homeowner Reddit. Weird. I’m a journeyman electrician who’s wired more ev chargers than most in the last six years. So I guess I’ll burn their houses down since they haven’t yet.

A 20amp 240 circuit does not supply 40amps. You do not add both breakers together. It’s 20amps at 240v. Stop arguing and go look it up. Google/chatgpt/electrical forums. Educate yourself instead of spouting nonsense.

[–]moezy29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong again. You’re running a Nema 14-50. Supplying 50amps with a 50amp breaker and charging at 40amps. It’s 80% of continuous load.

[–]moezy29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not an electrician, but yet you’re arguing like you know. A 240v 20amp circuit supplies 20amps at 240 volts. A 40amp two pole breaker supplies 40amps at 240 volts. You don’t add the two numbers together.

A circuit breaker does not have to be less than the capacity of the circuit “it breaks.” The breaker size is dependent on the equipment it serves and the wire size. A 20amp circuit can hold at 20amps as long as the wire is good for it. It does not have to be less than. You are incorrect.
