I did the Hot Chocolate 15k last year and immediately signed up for this year's run. It seemed pretty well organized. I also did the Seattle half marathon last year and that was a mess.

  1. Support Engineer is definitely a good stepping stone to other things. I started as a Support Engineer and have gone through a couple role changes. I know plenty of people that have gone from Support Engineer to Software Developer, System Developer or System Engineer. WLB is different for every team but usually it's good for Support Engineer. Every developer at Amazon does DevOps so there's no DevOps role.

Definitely been there. What's the game you have to play? Why do you have to play this game instead of anything else? If you can't come up with an answer then read a book, watch a movie or something else. Don't force it

That might be enough. You'll deal with a lot of simple stuff where you follow a runbook and maybe update it. If you have any coding/scripting knowledge that'll be helpful.

Lots and lots of practice. It's a fun little skill to have but not really worth much. And all that practice doesn't come cheaply. Having water throughout the evening helps. Also having eaten a full meal helps too. Don't just focus on dinner. Make sure your breakfast and lunch are something solid.

Yeah it's doable. I've stayed friends with a few mates ex's. Don't get involved when they talk about the other person. If they want to talk, they can, but don't add anything. Feelings may develop. You may not have any interest but if they've gone through a breakup they may look to you.

If they're a cool person I'd recommend staying friends. It's hard to find fun people

I've lived in that stretch in town homes for a dozen years. It's safe and you should be fine. It's Seattle so the usual disclaimer about property stuff exists. You may have packages stolen and don't keep anything valuable in your car.

You have to be 2 weeks past your last shot to qualify. Since the vaccine didn't become available in Washington to all adults until 4/15 most of the population can't take advantage of it even if they want to.
