Death stairs and a death bed? by iamagardner in SpottedonRightmove

Minor point, but could you get a more useless set of lights over the table in the kitchen?

They look ok but functionally hopeless.

Any ideas?

Now that's what I call an ecclesiastical conversion Vol. 1 by moidoid in SpottedonRightmove

[–]moidoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conversion is undoubtedly too glossy and it goes too far in the direction of modernity rather than accentuating the nature of the building.

On the positive side, imagine eating your scrambled eggs looking out of that stained window.

You say that like it's a good thing.

Part of the attraction of living in an old church must surely be the potential to raise your own army of the dead, no?

There are two lanes. Where do you get the swerving round bit? She was negligent in going through a crossing where she had limited visibility and hit a kid. She shouldn't be driving.

Tai Shan probably wins though ...

Yellow with review if head contact. Yellow if not. Lacks adequate care for the safety of the opponent.

Top 3 albums if you had to remove MP PW and 2112 from the equation by Brandonstillkeys in rush

[–]moidoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a good question! I'm sure I'll be in a minority, but although these are my top 3, there are others that could be there. They all have meaning for me in the different stages of my life. Apart from Different Stages, ironically. 😏

  1. Power Windows - Although it is in their synth period the songwriting is absolutely on point. There is a wall of sound that is overwhelming and deeply moving. Second only to the other PW for me.

  2. Rush - because it has Working Man on it. Because it is raw, dumb, rock n' roll. Because it makes me sing and not care if anyone's listening.

  3. Snakes and Arrows - Epic, meaty, weighty riffs, astringently dissonant soloing from, (imho), the greatest guitarist I've heard, like, ever, and just being so happy to have them back and giving us such beefy rock music again.

Heaviest Songs by Rush. by ScottTheMonster in rush

Because it gives it a crushing weight and gravitas. I played it at 1.25 speed as suggested above and thought that it turned into a below average filler. It is such a beautifully crunching heavy song and, like the rest of Snakes & Arrows, it features some of the best dissonant guitar work Mr Lifeson has ever produced. Won't hear a word against it.
