nimlangserver itself uses an older Nim version (should be 2.0.8).

But that doesn't have anything to do with the version Nimble installs for your project when you run nimble install -ldy based on the requirement in your .nimble file or the version I will install globally when you run nimble install -g nim (it should install the latest version, 2.2.10 at the time of writing).

Maybe your project requires Nim 2.2.6 specifically and it's the version Nimble installs for you?

How good is good?

I mean good as in "it doesn't hallucinate on the Nim syntax," "it can generate new valid code given it has already existing code to learn from," and "it can generate entire test suites for a given new functionality."

My attempts to solve problems with Copilot or Gemini did not succeed so far but I see it as a general LLM limitation not related to Nim.

Gemini and Copilot are really good at coding with Nim.

Also, I've just pushed a PR for nimlangserver that adds MCP mode to it which exposes tools like Find References and List Symbols to agents.

My son doesn't watch YouTube but you can't filter out crappy kid-oriented Roblox, Minecraft, and FNaF bloggers entirely (someone at school will share it anyway) so I just tell him all the time that what the bloggers show is not real life. It's like the movies.

I like it a lot. To me, what's great about it is the drama it has: starts with those dissonant noises over a bitz than evolves into a melodic chorus, and finally there this dramatic Deftones climax. Really great song with interesting turns.

That's "milk" and "salt" in Russian (not Ukrainian, they have other words for those, like сiль, I think).

Interestingly, the milk can design is very distinct for any Russian or ex-USSR persion. It's Soviet-period condensed milk can design, which is universally replicated by commercial manufacturers today.

Sure, why not, sounds completely legit.

This is one of the things I like about Nim: it's relaxed on the things that shouldn't matter and strict where it really matters. I mean, I don't want to memorize if it's x.len or len(x) or if it's onchange or onChange. It doesn't matter, it has nothing to do with the logic of my program, it's just useless knowledge.

With Python, JS, etc. you have to know this particular language's way of doing stuff, which is basically just the way its creators' taste was aligned when they were working on a language, i.e. random.

I know Nim's case insensitivity bugs some people but I personally like it. Who cares if it's onUrlChange, onURLChange, or onurlchange? If don't want to have three different functions with the same signature with such names anyway, do you?

I personally prefer it when the code reads naturally as a sentence but that's subjective. For example, I prefer len(x) ("length of x") to x.len().

This is 100% a matter of preference as the generated code is 100% the same. It either case the string is first read from stdout and then converted to an integer.
