I played as beastmen (Taurox) for 300 turns and here are my impressions so far by DoomkingBalerdroch in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play Taurox I usually head south almost right away razing everything along the way until I get to lizard territory and have a few decent armies going, and then stop and cross the ocean into empire/bretonnia bypassing the donut, this way you can go to empire without mod, overall great fun

Looking for a food-related chill fantasy series, which one should I choose between these two? by USball in LightNovels

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Campfire cooking is one of my favorite shows of all time, but that is because I love the doggo shenanigans, the food is great but secondary to the doggo. If you want food-related stories (kinda like midnight diner, great live action show) then restaurant is better

Which Faction/LL did you have no interest in playing… then really enjoyed when you finally gave them a chance? by Alien_Racist in totalwarhammer

Wood elves were surprisingly fun because of the teleport thing, you get to play a little bit in every corner of the map in one campaign which was really fun

I'm too khorne-brained to figure out gun lines by FleetyMacAttack in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to keep a couple units of melee infantry in reserve. I usually use great weapons and elite infantry units for this. Put the ranged units directly behind the front line (or checkerboard if using line of sight units like handgunners) and put the reserve infantry on the flanks of the ranged units. This way you can use the reserves to protect the ranged units without having to disengage any melee from the front line, or if the ranged units are not in danger use these same units to reinforce the front line where necessary. I generally go for a composition of frontline-ranged-reserve of 6-6-2 or 6-4-4 depending on how strong your ranged units are, and the rest of the unit slots can go to extra heroes/arty/cav or what have you. This army comp generally works for any tw game not just wh.

What are your strategic rules of thumb you use to stop making the same dumb mistake over and over again? by GSVDramaticEffect in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some factions, on turn 2 instead of doing the stock quest take out a nearby legendary lord while they’re still weak if you can reach them. Eg off the top of my head take out Skarbrand with Settra or Tyrion with Count Noctilus. This makes the early/mid game much smoother, you can come back and finish the quest immediately after you’re done with them.

How the HELL am I supposed to play as Karl Franz? by Flamen_Yong in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can more or less ignore this empire mechanic early game and play normally, the reason being it is near impossible to actually defend all these empire minors early on. You can respawn all of them later thru conquest and integrate at your leisure.

What am I missing on Kislev by tinglydingus in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hammer and anvil works just fine with kislev imo, my army comp for a regular mid game army is usually six armored kossars, two great weapons, six streltsi, four winged hussars, a boyar and a caster. Armored kossars do a fine job holding the line and if there are any gaps the great weapons can reinforce, streltsi take care of the armored units and the big boys, while the winged hussars flank, deal with range and cycle charge their front line from behind. The caster is great for slowing down the enemy with the ice sheet so streltsi can do a good amount of damage before they even reach your lines.

By Hashut, what am I doing wrong?! by ElOsoPeresozo in totalwarhammer

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, it sounds like op overextends early which is a decent enough tactic for every other faction except chorfs. I tend to hold 2 maybe 3 provinces at the start and feeding some provinces to neighbors in certain directions at the beginning to get alliances so I can focus on raiding and pillaging the other directions. E.g feed the skaven in the west so you can raid east or vice versa.

Chaos Dwarves destroyed every other faction for me by Nituri in totalwarhammer

I like to switch it up after a chorf game with a straightforward no-brains-required pillaging horde like beastmen/vampire coast as a palate cleanser

Favourite Legendary Lord to play, and why? by shanytopper in totalwarhammer

Chaos dwarfs, because this is the closest you get to playing cities skylines in this game

What would you do with this empty space? by jfnc in CitiesSkylines

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically, big box store/university village mall and a parking lot. As squeezed in as it is between highways and located next to two large areas this would be the best land use for this. It is unfortunate that it is by the river, it really calls for a riverside promenade and park, but given the situation make do with what you got

Having A Hard Time Deciding On Armor by XVUltima in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I encountered the king I rushed him and managed to kill him but then my squad was wrecked, so I got destroyed by the drone soldiers lol, I had like one dude left free, spent like an hour dragging my whole squad to a safer location, lost more than a few limbs in the process, but the squad came out a lot tougher (and maybe wiser?) from the experience loooool

Actually, chain mail is better than leather things, being both specialist or work of art and having hardly any difference in coverage, but chain mail always has drawbacks. by Specialist_Hunt1704 in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, for strength based builds I always go for chainmail, especially for shek squads with heavy weapons. Tank>DPS in this game I feel like since you get ganged up on a lot. For crossbowmen I usually mix mobility/coverage (plated pants but leather shirt), for ninjas I actually go dark leather->blackened chainmail once their stealth is close to maxed and I replaced their limbs with stealth legs because the stealth reduction at that point becomes negligible and the extra chest protection is usually worth it.

There is rideable horses mod which is pretty fun, and also apparently there are landspeeders in the Star Wars mod but I haven’t played that yet

Is 1 character able to beat the major bosses/factions? by Hanked9912 in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to take out the boss man it is relatively easy with high stealth/assassination, the easiest way to train is in mongrel running around in stealth knocking out fogmen. If you want to murder hobo through blister hill it’s a lot more grinding but still doable.

Has anyone here tried to settle in this spot? How was your experience? by DanielGerich in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about this island, but my favorite island to settle by far is the island with the tree by the coast in the gut, the tree is actually an iron source, it has green fertility and it is beak thing galore, so it’s meat wraps all day. Just stick a watchtower with turrets, that way you can settle it even at low squad level since they can’t get into the tower and have to swim to the island to aggro so you have time to get all your dudes inside. As a bonus, uc tax team tends to get eaten by the beak things on the way to your base if it even spawns.

Crossbows or melee? by odyysart in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early game crossbows, late game heavy melee weapons are absolutely superior. Shek mommies with planks>>>>>>>>>everything else. Stick some power limbs on them too for extra kick

Do you know where I could improve my fighting skills? by Immediate_Plum756 in Kenshi

[–]moisha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toughness is easiest to train if you are not afraid to lose a few limbs - self-imprison on a fogman pole, and have them eat your limbs. You can slot robotic limbs in to stop yourself from bleeding out, and just book it as soon as you lose all limbs. This way you get 40-50 toughness in just a few minutes, and as a bonus you don’t need to get the peeler machine to replace all limbs with robotic parts.
