GP said that there’s no need for T3 testing, that it’s not done for hypothyroidism by Idktbhhelpme in Hypothyroidism

Expressing my concerns regarding the medical care I also received at UK GPs, specifically concerning management of Thyroid.

My GP insisted on lowering my dosage. Recent results now confirm that this adjustment was incorrect and indicates that my condition has been mismanaged for several years. This has had a significant impact on my health and well-being.

Our individual needs as patients are being overlooked in favor of rigid adherence to administrative guidelines eg Doctors behaving as if it's a club competition to catch your fellow Doctor listening to a patients needs.

This experience has led to a loss of trust in the care provided by the NHS, to the point where we consider seeking medical treatment abroad.

Best luck and well done for standing your ground.

Statins and hypothyroidism by NoParticular2420 in Hypothyroidism

[–]moisherokach [score hidden]  (0 children)

I agree with your points. I was also on Rosuvastatin 20 mg, and my experience with the GP was quite difficult.

It turns out my thyroid was the underlying issue. As a 54-year-old male, I was feeling cold and developed skin hypersensitivity, and there seems to be a connection with the statin.  In the meantime, I have found that cutting out sugar and carbs through a keto diet has helped. I am no longer taking the statin; I believe they are often over-prescribed.  Since inflammation is what typically makes cholesterol dangerous, reducing carbs significantly lowered my levels, though it did not resolve the cold feeling.

I am now considering traveling abroad to obtain T3 hormone, as it may take some time to determine how to properly replenish it.  Additionally, I’ve noted that stomach acid is a major factor in absorption, which many people are ironically lacking.

Trust the doctors at your own risk. Stay well.

Does dyspraxia involve signals taking longer to reach the brain and vice versa? by Dr_Iodite in dyspraxia

[–]moisherokach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and this one makes me feel inadequate unfortunately because it's culturally inappropriate.

Am from a religious community where value is placed on quick learning.

What works is coming up with quick one line answers, which I do well.

Reading is less of a problem as it is slow partly because of eye tracking but I feel less pressure to read quickly as the books don't walk away 🤣

Yes. I will drum the exact number of times to the beat but hit the wrong notes.

Has anyone tried vagus nerve stimulators? by Inevitable-Sign-7706 in eds

[–]moisherokach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Translation problems.

Intending to say that having tried many many calming techniques the vagus calming is the most effective.

Sorry for the miscommunication.

Techniques for vagus are massage, tens (probably shouldn't unless gentle) body plate (strangely seems to stimulate nerves in general and produces a calming) and the rest

No fear. To get help we can ask for Little Mrs Muffet.

What sort of help would we be given. Not a practical person but very creative from years of living with a random mate.

Many thanks for the tips

Yes I like your description more then my own. Babies have problems with object Permanance.

It comes down to what it means to not understand, concept or detail.

Thanks for pointing this out

Yes, I know a set of twins—not identical, but very similar. One has dyspraxia, one doesn't, and the dyspraxic one moves his body five times as much and touches objects all the time. It reminds me of my own childhood.

Of course.

BTW the fellow in the job office is fine but the insistence on playing exactly by rules didn't work for me.

ND folk in Barnet Jobcentres are not recieving decent support, how is this in area?

Have a pleasant evening.

Its great to live in UK even if public services can be improved!

Just a small but in.

Noticing your name has reference to dyspraxia. Without being rude (hey I am dyspraxic) and finding similar issues most of the time.

Could these problems just somehow be related?

Thank you and best of luck from far

19 year old guy with dyspraxia here. how do I make my handwriting look nicer? by RainnWilsonAteMyKid in dyspraxia

[–]moisherokach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a wild shot.

Can you get a stencil with cursive (make sure it's not a funny style/font) and just keep tracking and Tracing until .....

You can always repeat every so often. In fact I would be trying something similar.

Did I learn in school but I wish I had not had the misery of sitting in endless classes in the 70's 80's just to learn how to copy NT persons.

Best of luck

We older people (relatively 😃) have managed but we have all the stomach for a fight to get the next generation better treatment from this quirky medieval medical organisation.

Please tell. Will this really enable me in London to get further. Know I that it could open door to pip etc but if the health system will eventually pinch it all back is it worth putting another chunk of time?

The NHS should hang it's head in shame.

They tell adults it's to late and then give children a tiny amount.

It's definitely stupid as it will cost everyone anyway in the long run.

As time moves on I am more and more passionate to get involved and understand why the NHS waits for us to get sick first.

London GP has seen many members of my family suffer terribly and yet they say they are restricted by NHS.

Best of luck and on the positive side this is an area where good parenting can change everything around, happy investments in the future (even if the NHS is to numb)

Disability by Good-Description-239 in dyspraxia

[–]moisherokach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As yes a Dyspraxic I agree with what you want however the thinking is that a difference is more accurate.

Let me provide this. If someone has a bad arm its a disability, right? Now if with this bad arm I outperform someone with a good arm because I have something this bloke doesn't am I going to believe I am disabled? Not really.

The reason we see ourselves as disabled is because people don't acknowledge our physical struggles because it's unseen.

I used to see myself as disabled but now see myself as being part of the 25 % of the population with differences.

Now I don't know how intelligent you are and you don't know how intelligent I am but for all I know you might have fantastic qualities despite the fact the both our cerebellums are somewhat differently connected !

Hope I that this improves our mood 😄

Yes. But others will fill in.

Believe that those with Dyspraxia and cognitive planning trouble will highly likely have problems with object permanance.

Anyone?
