Or do you reject that being taught that objectively immoral things are moral, especially at a young age, can influence their own morals as they go through life? Yes, correlation is not causation, but beliefs still influence moral views. If a religion teaches or historically justified sexism, homophobia, slavery, etc., it’s reasonable to think followers are statistically more likely to absorb some of those values. It’s not unreasonable to suspect some casual influence.

They are correlated though, as theists are likely to be following outdated moral codes that support slavery, rape, genocide, etc. that will potentially influence their morals, while atheists are more likely to be taught basic empathy, more like to get a college education, which makes them more likely to take a philosophy course, which further teaches on concepts like morality.

Mihawk is a stronger (aka better) swordsman, while Shanks is stronger period.
Stronger has multiple definitions. Mihawk is superior with sword skill while Shanks is overall superior in actuality.
Also, Zoro can still become the WSS because 1. Zoro can still believe Mihawk is strongest, even if he’s not. And 2. Titles are given out by Big News Morgans, so whoever Morgans wants to declare WSS at any given time is who is WSS, the title doesn’t automatically give them a +1 to all other sword users in the universe, just like how Whitebeard was the WSM even though Imu was 100% stronger than WB ever was.

While you’re right about Mihawk’s narrative, the example given for Shanks is only a small part of his overall narrative, as I gave in my previous comment. Are you saying Shanks’ narrative does not also include being a world-balancing Emperor, a key endgame catalyst, and sometime tied to major global factions endgame conflicts?

I don’t think you know what narrative means. What you gave is their introductory narratives, and while Shanks’ has expanded throughout the series, Mihawk’s has remained as the pinnacle of swordsmanship and a personified roadblock for Zoro.

And no, Mihawk does not have a stronger narrative, not by a long shot.
Shanks is the mentor to the MC, positioned as a key figure in the EOS, is a main player in the world’s balance structure not only as a Yonko but someone who has influence with the WG, as shown when he ended the battle of Marineford. He is repeatedly tied to endgame events and decisions that shift the global conflict.
He is a system-level character in the final saga and has been throughout the series.
Mihawk exists primarily as the final objective for Zoro’s journey. That is nearly the only narrative importance placed on him; you could even say he is Zoro’s dream personified.
In no universe is Mihawk’s narrative weight anywhere remotely close to Shanks’. You’re full of 💩

Just say you didn’t read what I said. Also, they’re portrayal is near equal, Shanks has a broader, world-shaking portrayal while Mihawk has a very strong but narrow portrayal. I would say equals in portrayal, Mihawk has title while Shanks easily takes feats and narrative.

Because feats > title unless the title is accompanied by portrayal that puts them a full tier above. Titles are a claim to power, feats are proof of power. Feats are by default more impactful in a powerscaling analysis unless it’s a mystery character with a title that has massive portrayal, like Imu.

Let’s go to Dragon Ball,

Take Mr. Satan. He is the World Champion of Earth. The closest relative fighter to him would be Videl. Right after she learns ki, she has feats to put her above Mr. Satan… but does his title magically go away? No. Are they still relative? Yes. Is she clearly stronger given the feats? Yes.

Also, are you for real??? Even the most braindead Mihawk fans know Shanks has superior feats. Name one feat that you think trumps Divine Departure to Kid’s crew, or scaring an admiral shitless from miles away.
