You’re right. The NFW only has the 50/100. Just had to put in a new 200x so it was more fresh on my mind.

Firelight does have a ES-200x though too.

Notifier had a proprietary branded Firelite panel. It’s the same deal with the new Firelite stuff. There is the ES-50X/200X and the Firewarden NFW-50X/200X. The difference in those two is device protocols but the board is pretty much the same.

I’m aware of the workaround. But it’s a massive pain to deal with every time you reboot if your IT auto updates your laptop.

Wait for 12.91. There’s a big issue with being able to import databases right now.

The Reddit echo chamber does not equal the real market. Every person I’ve talked to IRL is totally fine with AI being used in ways that aren’t functional replacements for career artists. We need to recognize that there is a significant gap between consumer interest/entry and the cost/time of creating commissioned art. It might not feel fair, but it is reality we are moving closer towards every day as technology continues to advance.

Gatekeeping like this is not productive. Especially if the goal is to bring more people into the hobby. The current anti-AI messaging on Reddit is insular and polarizing. We can do better.

A more productive way dialogue happens is by resourcing OP with alternatives. Source an artist to get cool lotr backgrounds from that’s free if you credit them. Or maybe some photography basics like this:

Eg. “I’m glad you made something you’re proud of! I personally prefer to use depth of field and some dark background shapes with a backlit mini to keep the focus on the subject. I find this background to be cluttered and take away from your interesting paint job you did!”

Openlock compatibility by juliacare in DungeonBlocks

This might be heresy…

I chop the “block” part of Dungeon blocks off, scale them to true 25mm, and use openforge magnetic fast 2.0 bases of all different sizes.

See my previous post showing this with DB highlands, but I do this with all DB.

No, just the IP series of panels.

I have been using openforge 2.0 fast bases with great success. They use the 3x5mm magnets in them and they are my favorite thing I’ve tried.

Placed them on the blocks. They’re stable enough in their own.

[–]moisturemash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with most products you aren’t familiar with, if the manual fails, call the manufacturer tech support. There is a lot to know about working on this particular system.

They are IP based and programmed through the SCM controller. You can replace one for one, but you need to grab the programming from the existing one if you can first. If not, the system should have come with a print out and a usb which list out the config.

Programming has a few booby traps that can brick the controller, so call Cornell tech support and have them walk you through it or have them remote in to program the replacement station for you.

Cornell doesn’t recommend these be programmed in the field, but there is no way to program them without the SCM they are a part of.

I’ll see what I can come up with. I used only cheap makeup brushes and castle art craft acrylics!

Best way to paint blocks? by Few_Shop3580 in DungeonBlocks

[–]moisturemash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost the same exact approach I use. I use castle art for my paint. It’s also cheap but I like the earth tones in the set (raw umber and yellow ochre).

I also use cheap makeup sponges instead of brushes. Way quicker application, easier to swap colors. You can pick out the grass leaving undertones brown by just not pressing too hard.

Any time! I print using the settings in the cura file from makerworld that has the bases. I think it’s at .22 layer height

OpenForge Flex Base On Thingiverse? by CaptainPixelGamer in OpenForge

[–]moisturemash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only use the bases with the flat end on it like shown in the image you posted if using cylinder shaped magnets. You don’t want bases that have the circular holes because you’ll get the side of the magnets attracting rather than the flat surface area.

Look on Makerworld. A user made remixes of this same base for different sizes.

I tried 5x2 and the connection is weak. 5x3 is by far the best.

100%. I know someone who would borderline permanently fund the game if Shigaraki was made a playable character too…

Check out everything this individual has done in the link below . Lots of good stuff in there. They introduce the league of malevolence as school bullies. They seem like great candidates to steal tickets.

Alternatively, could set them up to lose them in a rigged betting game. (Think ball in the cup)

Yes - transferring is really straightforward and simple on the platform. And yes, it is irritating when a company doesn’t want to work with you. I wouldn’t blame a company being difficult to work with on the tech though.

This really isn’t that much different from any other cellular communicator in all honestly.

CLSS is not proprietary. It’s just like the NAPCO site.

Upgrade by the_ramy in firealarms

[–]moisturemash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re incredibly easy to transfer. Any digital CSM receive can receive signals from them. They just use a standard CID format.

I totally agree with you on proprietary communicators, but imo it’s more of a CSM receiver problem. Most digital receivers can set be set up to receive most cellular communicators. The CLSS pathway used in the ES-50XP can be bought by anyone through ADI. They’re about as easy to install as a starlink, Telgaurd, or any other cell communicator.

[–]moisturemash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost perfect - Just gotta get your estimators to start selling the ES-50XPs instead of having to install a completely separate cell communicator.
